I'm ready to go back on the pill after having my baby. While TTC I gained approx. 20 pounds and became a hairy monster. What's the best pill to help me lose the weight and control the hair growth?????

Also, I'm going to asf my endo to prescribe spiro to help with the hairyness, it's out of control !!!

Which pill were you on before?

I was on Dianette, came off it, went all spotty and hairy and gained weight and got diagnosed!!
I went back on it after a few years and my skin cleared quite a bit and I lost weight again.
However, it didn't work as well the second time round.

If you're adding spiro you should get good results whether you used Dianette or say, Yasmin (which I haven't tried btw).

Pure Inositol 3 grams a day (for panic disorder - thrilled to discover it could help with pcos as well)

Cant recommend Diane 35, it hasnt helped me with hair loss or growth where I dont want it but mildly helps acne

For me, Marvelon/Desogen was the best bcp for that. Some people like Yasmin too, but it gave me cystic acne and my weight went up. Both are anti=androgenic so should help after 3 months or so.

Have you tried Chinese herbal medicine? I know it can be pricey but it improved my hair condition and skin. It also helped me maintain a regular cycle.

My doc has me on Yaz and says it is best for hair and weight. It seems to be working.

Diagnosed with PCOS May 2008

Symptoms:
Weight Gain, Acne, Hirsutism, Irregular Periods, Skin Tags, Infertility, Thickened Endometrial Lining, Hyperplasia.

Treatment:
Started Metformin and Yaz the BC Pill
TTC since August 2004
Stopped TTC May 2008, trying to regulate hormones and lose weight before trying again.

I really want to have a baby before the end of 2010. This means I need to lose alot of weight and get my PCOS under control.

I've been on Spiro and Estrostep Fe bcp then Reclipsen bcp (i only switched b/c I could get reclipsen at the college health clinic for super cheap & my doctor said it was okay). This combo has worked great for me
