Question Best hairstyle for thinning hair?

I need a new style! what are the best cuts to disguise the thinning on top and in front? i have always had side sweep bangs but im afriad to cut them for fear that it make make the problem more noticable??? any ladies with bangs or a cute solution feel free to chime in

I'm not sure that there's really an answer. Mine really isn't too bad at the moment, as it's not obviously thin on top. However I really have marked male pattern balding at the temples which is usually masked by the hair falling over it and covering it. When the wind blows, though, it can be very obvious leading to comments.

I'm thinking of getting a hairpiece (or two) as like my natural hair as possible and getting used to wearing it now, before the balding progresses any further.

I think during my thinnest hair days I wore it up quite frequently which required my bangs to be grown out. Nowadays, I keep it just barely long enough to sweep up into a clip when I need to. I keep the hair all one length at the recommendation of my hairdresser since she seems to think it appears thicker shorter and all one length.

I think my bangs are the biggest problem- I really wish they were grown out, so I could pull it back without having a noticeable line. Right now, I pull my hair back and clip my bangs at the side.

My hair is all one length (well it's layered, but my bangs are long) and just past shoulder length. I've been thinking about getting bangs again....what do you girls think? (my avatar pic is very recent and is what I look like now, with my hair just a TAD bit longer)

I think side swept bangs work best..My hair dresser also told me I would have to keep my hair a lil short so it would look thicker...And try TRESemme` big boost Root lifting spray..any root lifting spray..and BAM..your hair will appear fuller...it's the best!!

I purchased a wig made out of real hair (approximately $65). Merely explained to my friends and family that I due to health condition I had very thin hair on my head and was tired of not being able to do anything about it. I have received so many compliments and wish I would have done it before. It was hard to act so non-chalant when I explained to people why I bought a wig, but I didn't want to act like I was trying to pretend like it was my own hair when my real hair looked so bad. No more bad hair days! I wish I would have done this years ago, as I've had so many days when I didn't even want to look people in the face because of the thin hair on my head. Try it!

You can do layers if the stylist nows what she's doing. I traveled and got the best layered cut on long hair. I'll try to find the pic of it. My hair was to my mid back. It was all different links with alot of bangs in diff directions. She cut my bangs from the center of the top and then I would puff up the back section. It was great. Now I have a short do, that is long in front and short in back. It's good too. With side swept bangs. I notice that when I color my hair darker it's better. RED isn't good.

Also, I just bed head thickifier. I think it's the name. It's really good.

I'll try to find a pic of the hair.

Try using a volumizing shampoo/conditioner/mousse. That will give the appearance of bigger/more hair. And also, cutting your hair into a stack has the same effect. (I'm in cosmetology school, I don't know it all yet, but I'll figure it out for us PCOS girls!) Also, pulling your hair back has the tendancy to break your hair. That could actually make it worse in the long run.
