Eek - I used to use a Venus until I started getting an eczema-like rash on my legs anywhere the razor went last year....

I decided after that to only stick to an electrical Braun epilator and the rash is now nearly gone, plus my leg hairs are growing back a lot slower and much finer. If epilating is too painful (and for me it hurt like hell the first couple of weeks but now I hardly notice it on my legs), the epilator I have also has a shaver attachment that I find has been awesome (those Venus refill cartridges were costing me a bundle!)

I have noticed that using veet helped me a lot. i have started to use the venus that vibrates. it seems to work better. You may be getting the rash because you are shaving so often

I find the shick intuition really good because it is very moisturizing as it has the lather right on the blade, I also find that veet works well also.

I forget the name of my razor. It's just completely slipped out of my head. I use the one with the microfine wires. They really do help prevent nicking. I'm bad to get in too big a hurry and cut myself. I also like the way it's made. It seems easier for me to use. Sometimes I have a lot of pain in my hands and regular razors can be difficult for me to grip when I'm having a flare up.

I've tried Intuition- and that rocks- but the soap around the razor always ran out after a few uses. (which might be one of those things that only happens to me..lol) Other than that brief experience, I've always used men's razors (I have course hair on my legs too)- the one I love is the Gillette Mach 5... the most recent verision is call "Fusion"... I prefer the vibrating version- but you can get it without and it saves you a couple dollars. Also it has a blade on the reverse to help guys shave around sideburns and whatever- I haven't really used that side yet. So really if you weren't going to use that extra blade you could just get the original Mach 5.
Did that make any sense whatsoever?

HTH!

Meredith, I had the same problem with the intuition. That's why I don't use it. I can't afford a new razor (at least not at that price) every couple of shaves.

I picked up the Schick Quattro recently and it seems to work well for me. It even came with a spiffy little suction cup so I can hang it on the wall in the shower! lol

I've always wondered.. Do the vibrating razors really make a difference? What exactly do they do that make them better than a regular razor? I always look at them, but I never wanted to spend the money unless I knew what made them worth the extra cost. (yes, I'm a tightwad!)

Depends how heavy your growth is and how often you shave. Men's razors are designed only for very short, bristly hair. So with a heavy growth and shaving every day should be OK -- and usually better value than women's.

thanks for the replies girls, i will give a few of the ideas a shot, ive nothing to loose lol.tho im sick of buying every gadget on the market they are so expensive and dont work well. ive bought everything from those silky mitt things to home electrolyos kits and electric tweezer things,i was nearly tempted into a home lazer kit but i think ive learned my lesson. pcos sucks.

for those who use veet, do u mean u are using the wax strips or hair removal creme

eva, im going to try this, does the venus razor head fit any mach 3 blade then, i have the blue one, wheres the cheapest place to buy them how much are they roughly?

I use the gillette mach but I've started using shaving oil when shaving my legs as it seems to give me a closer shave than foam/gel. The best thing I started doing (you all probably do this already - but I'm way too lazy) is to exfoliate my legs everyday and moisturise them every day. I seems to make the stubble less stubbly if that makes any sense!!!!

I use the shaving oil that L'Occitane make for men. It doubles up as a shaving oil and a shaving balm and it smells lovely. It can be quite expensive but it is worth it.

I get it from Debenham's over here but you can get it on QVC as well. There is also a L'Occitane shop in Glasgow but I don't know what other countries it's available in.
