I just finished my last bottle of bare minerals makeup and I'm looking for something with a little more coverage. I have to shave everyday and my skin is really light and my hair is really really dark! You can see the stubble underneath the skin sometimes even though I get a really close shave and I have no choice but to cover it with makeup. I need something that is going to make my skin look flawless and get out the redness that comes with having to shave ugh.
So works best for all of you?

Shaving every day doesn't need to leave your skin red, even if you do have male-type hair growth. I have very sensitive skin, but my Philips Norleco men's-type electric razor doesn't leave any redness or irritation at all.
What sort of razor are you using? Those designed for men are almost always much better for the face.
If it's a wet razor, what do you do to prepare your face before shaving -- do you wash it in very hot water?
What do you use to shave with -- gel, foam or what?
Do you dip the razor in extremely hot water between each stroke?
Do you use a good moisturizer immediately after shaving?

I shave right after I get out of a hot shower. I use a moisturizing face cream and shave with mens "goodnews" disposable razor by Gillette. I try to use a new razor every time or at least not the same razor twice, and I dip it into a cup of cold water that I keep in my room.
I don't have acne but sometimes my face gets irritated little bumps, ingrown hairs maybe? When I shave it makes it worse so I have to cover it up with a good concealer.
I tried my dads norelco razor once but it left me feeling kinda stubbly. My hair comes out rough like a man...I suppose because I have been shaving for almost 6 years now.
I also tried 2 laser treatments, but it got to be way too expensive. I fear it will come back anyway. Those first 2 treatments didn't show any improvement

The best make-up for this by far is Dermablend. This make-up is waterproof and can even be used to cover up tattoos. I've been using it for about 7 years, and wouldn't switch for the world. It comes in 2 formulations: a very heavy, putty-like foundation, and a lighter liquid. I used the putty kind until rather recently, when my hair growth had recessed enough to switch to the lighter kind.
And, may I say, don't be put off by slow results from laser hair removal. I had very dark, thick, full facial hair since I was 11. I did 2 years of electrolysis in high school, and got very little if any result, which was very expensive, painful, and discouraging given that I went every week for 2 years. Then, 2 years ago I decided to give laser a try after a good friend of mine had stellar results. It probably took about 6 or 7 treatments for me to see a significant, discernible difference (the face is the hardest part to treat apparently). I have been to 2 different providers in 2 different states with 2 different lasers. But the time and expense has been well worth it. Now, what little hair I do have left is thin and blond. After 20 treatments, I have had upwards of 90% reduction (and climbing). You have no idea what an amazing feeing it is to look in the mirror having not shaved in a week and see no hair unless I look closely in the right light. Not to mention how amazing my skin now looks (I had horrible folliculitis). Yes, it's expensive (I've spent about $3k so far), but when I think of all the stupid things I've spent money on, this seems like pennies given the return on investment.
Juliaanna! I'm with you in this process. I prefer to do all the process in the shower. I soaked my face in warm water for a while, use cetaphil or estee lauder perfectly clean foam, as it's feel very velvetty and little goes a long way. I still use a 3 blade razor, bic soleil. I have also apllied Tend skin... but careful it can burn- a dap, dap here and there can do and when ur skin still moist. I use the clinique moisturizer since is so light I can apply plenty in my neck. yes, I made the mistake on shaving the hairs on my neck and now have little black dots, well some visble... but I try to keep my hair down, but!!! but!! I have curly hair.. so, is diffult to maintain... If you can ever get laser, I will recommend so, yes, as Resipsalac mentioned, it can be expensive. I'm saving for that process again....
Resipsalac...! Wow... I been shaving for a long time and had good results with laser after almost 7 months, but then had sto stop since I was shipped off overseas. But, I'm so excited about hearing your results since I'll be heading back to the US and can't wait to start again. I used American lasers. Which one will you recommend? Did you ever try electrolysic blend method? Well, thanks for sharing your results.
ha ha, I find myself looking into the transgenders website to find good info and results...
Wow! poor me..
So, as I type this message.. I have to question myself- How I was able to have a relationship...? Hmmm, I dont know If he ever noticed, maybe because I shave 2 times a day and by early am, I wasnt growing, growing... Well, good luck to you all!!!
Now, I know im not alone.... !!!!!
thanks and hope to hear from you all. blessings.

Reason: grammar, again! lol I get too excited. posting here. :)
I like Almay smart shade cover-up, which changes color to match your skin. I like it because I can slather it on, and it's not obvious and cakey like other foundations (had problems with that before). I always follow with a powder and lay that on fairly thick too. It's not a perfect solution, but at least my make-up doesn't call attention to my hairy face anymore!
I use the Maybelline Mouse make-up. I think it works pretty well, although I fear when I am out in the sun the hair (stubble) is noticeable, even though I shave everyday. eek.

I use MAC studio fix fluid-it works great!- but another cheaper alternative is revlons colourstay foundation which also covers very well. I also buy a yellow concealer that is made for dark undereye circles that is supposed to counterbalance the darkness and make it less noticable. I use this on my darkest hairs (on my chin) before I apply my foundation and it really helps to make the stubble less noticable
I don't really have a good makeup to suggest because I am looking for one myself show the stubble wont show through but I will tell you ladies what I have discovered I don't shave my face I pluck my chin daily and have a bad habit of squeezing the stubbles out so they can't be seen on my face. Around Feb of this year I starting using Mary Kay Nighttime Cellulite Cream on the back of my legs. Don't think I am crazy I just get paranoid about the chin stubble and desperately look for anything that might help make the hair growth slow down. I know they have prescriptions but they are really expensive. I know several people that have had laser treatment and electrolisys some have good results and some didn't Well I started telling a difference in my legs I could tell the cellulite was getting better. So I decided just to rub a little bit of the cream on my chin after about a week I could tell the differnce in the hair growth it slowed down a lot. I still have hairs but it takes them a lot longer to grow back and they are a lot less noticeable. Sorry for the long post I know it may not work for all of you but it does for me. The stuff can be really expensive I normally find it cheaper on ebay but I just found a website. I don't have it with me I am at work but if any of you are interested in trying it you can let me know and I will give you websited. I bought a bottle yesterday it was 5.00 that's a lot less than what I have been paying for it but like I said if anyone wants the site let me know. Hope you all don't think I am totally nuts..!!
