Default best makeup for cystic acne??

Can someone help? I'm trying to find the best makeup that will conceal cystic acne. I've been looking into trying Bare Escentuals but the only thing holding me back is wondering whether or not it will completely hide my severe acne. Right now I'm using Clinique products and I'm not entirely happy with the results. I've used Clinique for years on and off, and recently spent over $100 on products that would have blasted anyone's normal acne into oblivion. Mine, not so much. So I really want something natural without added chemicals on my face. Surely someone has some advice! Thanks in advance!

hi, i've struggled with cystic acne for forever.. i'm 16, and it started when i was 12... which seems like forever to me. i use bare essentials, MAC foundation/concealers are SOO good too.. um, revlon is pretty good too.. if you have scars like i do, the MAC and bare essentials are perfect for them. to conceal cysts, it's kinda hard cus they're bumpy and look like a big bee sting! but what i do is, i use cortisone cream and put it on every day until it goes down... dermatologists can inject them with cortisone too, and they're gone within 2 days.. i hope this helps!

Jen,

Have you looked into Dr. Hauschka homeopathic products? I was using Clinique 3 step (oily) for years and did not see alot of progress, in fact my skin in the end was pretty irritated. This past August I discovered Dr. Hauschka's natural line of makeup and skin care products. WOW...what a difference!!

"Dr. Rudolf Hauschka's holistic approach to skin care recognizes all the elements that play a role in achieving healthy, balanced skin. Our products address skin care problems rather than dealing with symptoms. They encourage the skin to achieve balance and harmony by stimulating the skin's ability to take care of itself and overcome its weaknesses. Dr. Hauschka Skin Care offers long-term solutions, revealing the natural beauty of the skin, allowing inner beauty to shine forth."

This is the starter pack for acne/impure skin that I tried as an introduction to the line of skin care:
http://www.drhauschka.co.uk/productinfo.php?product=20
This is the UK site, but I find it very informative.

Here is their American site :
http://www.drhauschka.com/
Celebrities who use:
http://www.drhauschka.com/whats_new/whats_new_fr.html

I have found that Ebay or online German pharmacies are alot cheaper to buy from that my local stores ( I'm not sure what Dr. Hauschka prices are like in the States though).

I hope this helps in you search for natural skin care/makeup products.

I would recommend bare essentuals. It gives great coverage. If you have oily skin also get some of their mineral veil. It absorbs the oil throughout the day to give you that lovly matte finish.

I use Benefit Bo-oing Industrial Consealer, although not 'natural'. I found it's the best consealer to help cover my cysts/spots/blemishes. x

I use Bare Escentuals too and I LOVE it. I have moderate acne, not terrible, but I have never used a makeup that I like so much. I hope you like it!

I also have been using Clinique, my acne is not that bad anymore, but I think the Clinique makes me break out.

Please let me know how Bare Escentuals is!!!

Okay, today was my first day using the Bare Escentuals and it did cover my acne. Yay! Of course not completely--not makeup ever does that--but it looks better than any makeup I've ever tried, including Clinique. Before I got the BE I started using some organic soap and moisturizer for my face and I have not broken out in a week!! The only thing I noticed with the Bare Escentuals today was that I got pretty shiny in my T-zone at the end of work, but of course I was running around all day so that was probably the cause, not the makeup. My husband even loves the way my face looks with it on. Thanks girls for your advice!!!

That should have read it didn't completely cover my acne scars. Since I haven't broken out lately with new zits I don't know how well it'll cover them, but I'm satisfied so far.

glad it worked for you. I used a lot of Clinique and was unhappy with it all except for their oil free moisturizer

Use the Mineral Veil by BE, this will keep the shine down. It is a translucent powder. It also works great if you need to decrease the oil in your hair. Just brush it on like usual. what color did you end up getting?

I got the light/fairly light, if that's what you mean. Plus I got the bisque. I have been using the mineral veil but maybe just not enough of it?? What do you think?

I use the fair. Sometimes during the day, i touch up with the mineral veil, it doesn't hurt anything. Remember to always go from the outside in when putting on the makeup.

I like Dermablend and have been using it for years. It isn't perfect, I don't think anything is, but it does work great for zits and scars.
