Default Best shampoo for hair loss

Hi everyone !
I am having a lot of hair loss. It got aggravated after the homeopathic medicine (wiesbaden). I have recently started taking multivitamin EVE on advice of herbsgirl. I hope that bring about some change. But I would like to ask you that have you found any good shampoo for hair loss? I have been using head and shoulders lately but it is strong on hair and it is increasing my hair loss. I bough sunsilk hair fall solution with ginseng and soya. I have not used it yet but I read that reviews which were not good. Has anyone tried it ?? If yes, is it any good? If no, then which shampoo would you recommend for hair loss?

My stylist suggested the Nioxin system for thinning hair. It is super expensive, but I found a generic version at Sally Beauty Supply. It is cheaper, plus you get more in a bottle. It smells minty, which is nice. There are 3 parts, shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in treatment. All in all it is around $30, depending on which treatment you get (there are 2 or 3 different strengths). My hair feels thicker, which is nice because I had fine hair to begin with and then it started to fall out. I use a cheap (Suave, purple bottle) volumizing shampoo first to degrease, and then use the fancy stuff and leave it on for a few minutes while I shave and scrub. This helps the bottle of shampoo last longer.

I really recommend it.

Thanks for your reply . I will definitely give it a try. One more thing that I have noticed is that My hair start falling a lot 12-16 hours after hair wash as they tend to get very oily by that time. The more oily they get, the more they fall. Will nioxin help with oily scalp also? Is there any other shampoo that works excellent for oily scalp?

I feel like my hair is maybe a bit less oily. For me, I usually wash every day, but with this stuff, my hair at the very least LOOKS a little less oily. I am not quite as tempted to wear a head scarf every other day. Still pretty greasy, though.

I go to a gal at Structures in Freeland. Quite a hike for you, I'm afraid. She really is awesome, though.

I personally use Nioxin also and love it. My stylist actually gives it to me at her cost so it isn't all that expensive. I also use Nizoral shampoo 1% (about $10 at any grocery store/cvs) twice a week to reduce the DHT on my scalp. I have to admit that I also use women's rogaine (the equate walmart brand $18 for three months supply) once a day at night.. but i'm not always great about remembering to apply so really it is like 3-4 times a week! hha.... but I have seen GREAT results from the triple combo plus 500mg Met.

GovtProf,
How long did it take for you to see results with Nioxin? I alternately use Nioxin and Nizoral (1%) and it seems like everytime I use Nioxin I'm losing more and more hair.

What strength rogaine do you use?

Thanks.

Hm...I will have to try and use Nioxin. I've noticed my hair is starting to fall out and my hair has gotten thinner (it used to be really thick!). Someone mentioned a generic on Nioxin at Sally's beauty supply - what name is it under?

The generic is called Nutri-Ox.

My stylist offered to get me the real stuff at cost, but it was still $40. The whole deal at Sally's was around $25 and the bottles were bigger.

bkaur26, how long have you been using the system? I started in December and just started seeing results in March. Apparently once a hair starts the "dying" process, it can't be stopped. The stuff could be loosening up the hairs that have already stopped so it looks like you are having more fall out. I was like that too the first few months. I use the shampoo every day, the conditioner most days, and the treatment 2-3 times a week. I have a lot less hair in my brush and in the drain.

I bought the treatment the other day. I asked the lady at the store what she recommends for someone who wants to start it, but not buy the whole thing at first. I feel tingling...so I guess something is happening.
