Default Best time to take glucophage xr?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me when is the best time to take Gluco XR? Before dinner, in the middle or after? I've been told different things.

I started on 500 mg and have to go up to 2500. I am not technically a diabetic yet but SEVERLY insulin resistant. Is that how they prescribe it based on how severly insulin you are. My RE was very shocked at how IR I am. I wonder if once the insulin becomes more healthy if the weight will come off because I eat perfect and I have a weight problem when I shouldn't.

My fasting insulin was 32! About a half hour on the Gluc Tol Test my insulin was 259 with a max of 43! Very bad!

Thanks!

I take my glucophage XR after dinner... or with the last couple of bites... I take all 2000mgs at once. My doctor wanted me to take it 1000mg with breakfast and 1000mg with dinner... so I think its basically what you think is good!

For me, I take it at bedtime because it makes me sleepy.
I can't take it at dinner time or I would be asleep before my son.
