Default Better skin on metformin??

I am wondering if anyone has had success with oily skin and acne by taking metformin??

If so, what dose did you notice a difference and how long did it take to see an improvement?

Default

Well, my acne has changed since being on MET. Before MET, I was on BCP for many years and I had acne here and there, mostly nasty persistent cysts and clogged and enlarged pores.

Then I stopped the pill, and my body went to hell and I had acne all over my face and my back (for the first time ever in my life), and very oily skin.

Then I went on MET and now my acne has changed again. I rarely get cysts, but I do have many small pimples (whiteheads and blackheads) and my skin is oily. However, I have no back acne whatsoever.

A good facial gel cleanser has helped somewhat with these small pimples, but the only thing I find which helps my skin is microdermabrasion and a deep cleanse facial every 2-3 months (I can't afford it more frequently) and if for some reason I get a nasty breakout that won't clear for 2 weeks, I get antibiotics and it clears it up. I so don't want to take antibiotics (sigh)...but they do clear up nasty persistent breakouts.
