Default In Between Pregnancies...

I am just wondering what I need to do between pregnancies. I am a thin PCOS without IR and the only symptom I have is polycystic ovaries (normal cycles and ovulation but still not really fertile, needed help to conceive). What do I do now? I want to remain fertile so should I be on the pill temporarily (to get rid of my cysts) or just take Metformin and do low carbs? I had my son 9 months ago and have had regular periods since 4 months pp.

Also, who prescribes your Metformin? Your GYN? I don't want to have to go back to my RE to just get a script ($$$). Thanks in advance.
