| Laura Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Colorado Springs, CO ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've used OPK's and they NEVER register that I've ovulated... but, I've used Clomid before and it showed that I had, so... I get weird twinges between cycles, so I think I do. But, now I'm not so sure. I have no insurance, so I'm not sure going back to the doctor for Clomid is an option, but I might... May have to wait until hubby can add me to his. My name is Laura, by the way. My story is that I've been trying to conceive our first for a while now, since December 2005. My hubby is 31 and I'm 26 and we live in Colorado. I thought it odd that I didn't get pregnant right away since being off the NuvaRing for more than a year. I went to the doctor, they ran all these tests and the doctors "think" I have PCOS. I don't have cysts and they didn't suspect I had a problem ovulating. My hormone levels were normal (I think) and my cholesterol was high, so... There is a problem with diabetes in my family, so they think I very likely have some form of PCOS. I was put on Metformin, which seems to be working as I've lost weight and it regulated my cycle to 26 days. At this point, I almost want to go back to the doctor and start over, just to make sure they didn't miss something. I have all my medical records... I suppose I could look them over again.

I started using the OV Watch and I learned that I have always been testing at the wrong time and BD'ing at the wrong time. My chart is so much more consistant this month! Good luck to you all!

My triglycerides were also high... no indication that I'm NOT ovulating.

| Registered User | Laura- Welcome, I hope we get to know you better. I am terrible at temping correctly but, I've heard it really is key to have a good nights sleep and temp at the same time every day. I have found that restless nights to give strange temperature jumps that make your chart very hard to interpret. Rachel- Sorry to hear about your re being kind of snippy about you wanting to take and additional test. What I can never figure out is why do dr's care? It surly doesn't hurt anything to take an extra test and it does not detract from their day because they don't draw the blood them selves...How silly. That is me in the picture. I've always had my own pic as an avatar. Sometimes I get board and take up photography. Becky- Hurray for AF! Once you are on cd1 you can stop provera right? I have heard it has some nasty s/e. I haven't had to take it yet but, I'm dreading the day I probably will have to. Crystal- I'm so happy to hear that your surgery went well and you are able to take it easy and do some work from home. Good luck on your surgery tomorrow. Try not to stress. Of course I know nothing about actual pregnancy so I probably will be in huge trouble when I actually get there but, I just now read on another board about a pg woman who lost her mucus plug so maybe it's fairly common I'm sure your dr would let you know if you should be concerned about anything. Oh, and the tube down your throat sounds AAAAWFUL. I could not handle it! Me- I forgot to take my temp this morning! I am such a dummy. Now is the time that it really matters! But, I'm sure I have not ovulated yet. I haven't seen a +opk but, if this cycle is the same as the last one I have a couple of days to wait. Last cycle I got a + on cd 19 or 20. But, I have had some ewm so I've started the bding process. Ha, the process. I have also been using instead cups and I have preseed on hand. So, I'm armed and dangerous! We had to catch chickens tonight and take them out of our yard. How weird! We live in the city limits of biggest city in our state and we have to deal with run away farm animals. Apparently, it's urban and organic and fancy to have your own fresh eggs from your own city chickens. But, it's so strange to come home to chickens in your yard!

Says my chances are good, since we BD'd the day before. We'll see!!

| Registered User | URG! AF is still not technically here. The spotting has actually lessened a little. I'm still taking provera and I won't stop until a) I'm out of pills or b) AF really gets here. I had bad cramps this morning so I just don't know what is going on! I've never had s/e of provera before so I wouldnt' know what they are! Laura: Welcome! Hopefully you O'd and caught the egg! Rachel: What's the next step with you? Crystal: How are you feeling? Tesha: I don't think missing one day of temping is too bad. I would just make sure you do an OPK then today!

| Registered User | My follow up appt. went well. This was my last visit with the RE unless I have problems before next Thursday. Both babies had a heartbeat and my cervix is measuring 4.7 cm (which is good). I suspect that my new doctor will check my cervical length weekly. So, it's good to know where I am now. I'm going back to work tomorrow. It's so hard getting back into the swing of things!

| Registered User | I just figured out when my possible O days would be (if I would follow along a typical schedule somewhere between CD14-18) and it happens to be the WORST possible timing. My DH has concerts that week at school and stuff planned that weekend that he can't get out of. If I O on a certain day there is no way we could do an IUI. Murphy's Law, huh? I hope I O either really early or really late (if I O at all!)

| Registered User | Rachel- Thanks for the compliment on my picture. I really do love photography. My favorite thing to do is to grow flowers in my garden and then take pictures of them. It's so rewarding. When I have a baby I bet I'm gonna go crazy taking pictures of it. Crystal- That's great news that your check up went well and you heard both of the babies hearts. Is that the first time? Good luck going back to work. I know once I have a few days off I start feeling like I could really do with out work. It's hard to get back in the routine. Is it hard working and feeling pregnant or sick or tired? I'm so scared that once I get pg I'll start being the worlds worst employee, falling asleep at my desk or something. Becky- Hurray for you starting a new cycle! It is really common that women around here o later. I o around cd 20 and thought that was late but after asking it's pretty common. I don't know if it's Clomid or just pcos that does it but, I would say there's a good chance you may get an extra couple of days. Are you doing a monitored cycle with a trigger shot? I've heard that really pinpoints your ovulation and maybe if you have a few u/s and narrow down the day your dh will be able to plan better. Laura- Good luck! I hope you caught the egg! Now you just have to work on staying sane during the 2ww. That is always my downfall. Me- I got a +opk today so things are moving along as scheduled. My dr submitted the papers to have an hsg during my next cycle. She warned me that they are expensive though, so I think I'll call ahead to check how much my insurance will cover-if anything. The time around my ovulation is always extremely painful. I don't know if I'm just a wimp but, I couldn't bend over today with out bringing tears to my eyes. I think I'm making this up but, I wonder if I do have some sort of blockage and that is what causes the pain...things get stopped up? I guess I'll know more a month and several dollars from now. ![]() Baby dust to all my buddies!

| Registered User | Tesha: Go BD! I'm doing a monitored cycle, all my cycles will be monitored with my RE. I go in tomorrow for baselin u/s and bloodwork. I'll go in on CD13 for my first u/s to see if I've got a follie. I do have a trigger shot this time around. I know that they will be able to pinpoint ovulation but I just fear it is going to be one of those couple days that just are going to be impossible to schedule with my DH.
