Default BFP w/ Femara but Miscarried...

Just wanted to let you all know that on my first month of Femara 5mg I Ovulated and got Pregnant. I took Femara CD 3-7 as well as Metformin 1500mg and I did ovulate and get pregnant. Unfortunatly I had a miscarriage @ 5 weeks. My progesterone levels were down to 1.0 which is super low. Has anyone else had this issue where they did get pregnant but miscarried due to low Progesterone levels? Please advise, I don't want to loose another one when I become pregnant again.

BlumeBaby--i've never gotten pg before, but i do worry about having a miscarriage. i would ask your dr to put you on a progesterone supplement. i know many girls on here take that after they O since the low progesterone seems common with PCOS.
good luck!

I have never had a miscarriage that I was aware of but when my OB-GYN started me on Metformin and Clomid, he said if I did ovulate he would start me on Progesterone to keep my levels where they are supposed to be. I would talk to your MD about this.

Hi, I'm very sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I also got 2 miscarriages. Like others said, next time, your doc should give you progesterone.

I'm also curious to when your progesterone test was done, because the embryo might have stop growing for days or weeks before you miscarried. My first time they performed a D/C but my second time, they notice the embryo stop growing after week 6 and I physically miscarried around week 10. So, in my case, testing progesterone after week 6 might have turn out low but wouldn't have been the cause of miscarrying.

All this to say, that to be on the safe side, take extra progesterone and ask your doc to monitor your progesterone regularly once you get another BFP but keep in mind that it might have not been the cause of your miscarrying.

Good luck and lots of baby dust!!

I have a similar story...My first cycle on Femara with Ovidel trigger I got pregnant and m/c at 5 weeks. But my Dr. puts all his patients (over 35) on progesterone vaginal sup's. So I used those from 3 days after trigger injection. So, low progesterone wasn't my problem, but I hope next time it works for both of us!!!
...and ask your doc to put you on progesterone if you know that's an issue for you.
