I'm available as a big cyster
I was diagnosed in 1993 or 1995, I can't remember now, hehe... I was about 18, so it must have been 1993

I had caught mononucleosis from my first kiss and when I was at the doctor getting checked she started asking me about my cycle and I told her I had never started, so she referred me to an ob/gyn, I had some blood work drawn, an ultrasound, and whammo bammo I had been diagnosed with PCOS. At that time the internet was just getting going, so if you searched for something in yahoo, you only got a handful of pages to look at. I did manage to find some information and learned what I could. Eventually I came to a place where I didn't have health insurance for a while, so I dropped the birth control pills and spironolactone that I was using to treat my symptoms.
Fast forward 15 years, I'm almost 34 and I was married on May Day this year (we eloped

). I decided I better start getting my PCOS under control so we can start our family soon. I got online and was amazed at how much info was now available and so happy to find this fabulous website started by Kat Carney (Thanks Kat!). I'm currently using nutrition, fitness, medication, supplements, and meditation to manage my symptoms.
My PCOS symptoms are wacky periods that come whenever desired, every two weeks, every three months, I never know unless I am on birth control pills and even those don't always help to keep me regular. Break outs on my face and back, and I also have some hair issues, both excess and loss. Weight has always been a trouble for me since my hormones hit with puberty in fourth grade, and I am managing it with nutrition and fitness. I have also had issues with depression, PTSD, and anxiety, which through counseling and medication, I have finally got under control! :-)
I work part time as a Mad Scientist doing after school science programs in grade schools and I am on the WSU Master Gardeners Endowment board. I like to be surf the internet when I can. I love to garden and have spent the summer harvesting all the veggies to freeze and can. I have a dog named Matlock who is by my side all the time

I am also very artsy and love to do all sorts of projects... embroidery, scrapbooking, paintings, wood work... I really enjoy reading too. My biggest passion is probably food and I love to cook! Probably also why I enjoy growing my own food too.
I look forward to hearing from a lil' sis! If you don't have enough posts to PM (private message) yet, leave a comment on my public profile I'll get it and reach out to you
