Quick question, do you find it difficult to get supporting bras and maturnity bras in your size... I went up to a 44 H when I was carrying my son and found it near imposible, we are taking the long road to trying again in a couple of months and (fingers crossed I get Pg)the prospect of huge painful breast squeezed into bad fitting bras is making me dread the pg already..
(DH said I should start -up on my own supplying to big preg ladies as I understand the struggles we go through - ummmm def got me thinking about it !! )
Have a lovely day xxx

Have you checked www.figleaves.com They seem to have all bases covered! I bought my wedding underwear there, and my bra is a 42DD. I know they had some maternity ones as well.

Oh my God, I was thinking of you the other day! You'll never remeber me but you used to post on Ivillage TTC board and it was through you I found SC! I also remeber your late night trip to Tesco to get you pg test! Oh my word!! I sound like some crazy stalker I know! ha ha!- How's your son?
Anyways, back to big bras, I've gone up to 54J (US J = UK K) so I know about big bras . My bra is bigger than my head (no joke). I purchased the goddess 110 online from Lauren Silva. They were on sale and when you converted $ back to £ they were around £18 each, which is VERY VERY good.
Good luck!

I hear you about the Evans thing. I am desperate to get to a size 20 so i can shop in some mainstream shops, especially for my holidays. Size 18 would be even better but I don't think that will happen in 8 weeks - I wish!

I found it unbelievable that Evans don't do a maternity range, or even any maternity bras. I ended up buying some trousers that were a couple of sizes too big, but they just didn't look right. To pardon the pun, they are missing out on a huge market! Some people just have no vision. This has been mentioned on this board before, maybe we should send the replies to the shops! Some of Next's clothes go up to a size 22 but I find it a small 22. Amazing the difference between shops.

Not only that but within Evans it can be a total nightmare. I have generally been a size 24 skirt, then I have lost loads of weight and i decided to take some of the skirts i really liked in an inch or two..... I then found a skirt i loved in a size 22 and it went no-where near me, wouldn't fasten or anything - was gutted!
I don't know about anyone else but i have been storing clothes for years, as i put on weight the smaller ones go to the back and am left with a full wardrobe with only 3 things that fit. I have now lost nearly 2.5 stones and have gone back through my wardrobe... it is amazing the size differences... instead of putting them in label size order I have had to try them all on and put them in fitting order smallest to largest ... stupid... my wardrobe goes 20, 18, 20, 22, 20, 24, 22, 24, 26, 22... if you catch my drift (don't think i explained that very well).
The shame of it is that the shop that i think got it right was Etam and now they have closed them down, what a shame!

Lucy- you sound just like me. I had some trousers already which had lots of lycra in them and they lasted all the way through. I did get a pair from Mothercare which were quite big and weirdly a size 18! There really isn't much out there, not that I could find anyway, I bought a pair of trousers & a top a couple of sizes too big which did ok. Actually I also got a denim skirt from Mothercare which was huge and a size 20, their stuff isn't great but it might be worth having a look and trying things on.
Good Luck on your Christmas baby!

They have closed Etam - it has been bought out and now most of them are becoming Monsoon, well i ask you! However, the bloke who owns BHS bought them out and you can find the Amelie May stuff @ BHS possibly only the bigger stores, and not as much of a choice as in Etam.
Does anyone look on ebay for clothes. I sell stuff from time to time, mainly cos i have loads of stuff i have never or hardly worn and i am trying to lose weight so they are not fitting anymore. If anyone wants to look on ebay my id is Pears1c - and if any soulcysters buy from me i'll give a reduction in postage - cos basically i know what its like.
If i find any other sellers that are good for plus sizes i'll let you know. Cos shopping in places like Evans can cost a fortune!
