Question Bikini Wax??

I am getting married in August and will be going to Mexico for my honeymoon. I have never before gone for a bikini wax but am considering it. This may be a stupid question but... do you need to strip completely down for a bikini wax or is that just for a Brazilian Wax? If anyone has had either of these done and wouldn't mind sharing what exactly happens I would appreciate it. Thanks!

I haven't had it done myself, but I'm pretty sure for a bikini wax anyway, you can keep your pants on (I know pants means trousers in America, but I'm stumped at the minute for what you call them there - pantyhose? ... something like that. You know what I mean sure.)

Well good luck with the waxing! I've heard if you take a couple of painkillers (like Advil) before you go to get waxed, it doesn't hurt so much... but like I said, I don't know personally what it's like,so...
And congrats on the upcoming wedding

All the best

I havent gotten one but one of my friends does on occasion so i asked her She said that with a bikini wax, it kinda depends on the place you go to. Some give you these little paper undies to wear, and others dont. You dont have to be naked for a bikini wax...a brazillian on the other hand...well thats a different story obviously.

You don't have to take off your panties for a regular bikini wax, sometimes they give you a tissue to tuck in round them to protect them from the wax.

If you have them, I advise wearing rather high cut pants - make sure that all the skin that would show in a bikini is exposed!! - but not your favourite ones just in case you get wax on them.

A wax is quick and discreet, in my experience the beautician always leaves the room while you are undressing and dressing.

All the best for the wedding!!

p.s. Oh yeah, and get the wax done at least 2 days before you want to 1) sunbathe or 2) show the results to someone special! The skin may be a little red and sore for the first 24-48 hours, that's why I say that.

I have had to take off my panties for one of my Brazilian waxes. I must say, it was a bit disconcerting, but the aesthetician was very professional and the results were so great. For my other waxes, I generally leave panties on and the waxer tucks tissues around them. For me, the first *rrip* is always painful, but then your pain endorphins kick in and it becomes more tolerable. I actually think its more painful to get hair waxed around your ankle than the bikini line.

If you've never done it before, I would give yourself a "trim" because it can be more painful if you have longish hair. I also pop 3 Advil beforehand to minimize inflamation.

HTH!

Best,
Sarah

What all do they remove for a brazillian? Butt crack hair? Just the pubic triangle/sides? What?

I used to get a "regular" bikini wax all the time (you Brazilian girls are brave!!lol)

Anyhow... you can just wear your highest cut bikini bottoms (underwear or bathing suit...doesn't matter...) I'm sure it's possible that they could ruin them with a wax drip but honestly I have had it done so many times and at lots of different places and noone has ever damaged any of my clothing... if it is in their way they are very good at just moving it over...lol

I would also say trim as short as you can with scissors or a trimmer or soemthing prior... that will make it easier and yes, it hurts but only for a second but it is so worth it...

You know, after having a baby, I think all modesty goes out the window. Once upon a time, the mere thought would have mortified me... now it's like, oh, I show my butt to a strnager in exchange for hair free goodness? Sounds fair to me!

I tried to wax my own butt crack once. It was a HUGE mistake...

That's good, because I couldn't begin to answer it! I must have supressed the memory. (The problem is you just can't get the right leverage to wax your own butt crack... I know I was really sticky back there for a while...)

Default Thanks

Thank you all. Wow I didn't think I'd get this much insight into this topic....lol. I plan to call and make an appointment for my first bikini wax this week. I figure I'll test it out and see how I like it before getting one for the honeymoon. The wedding is in 10 weeks...I figure if i get one now I'll be ready for a second shortly before the wedding. Once again thank you all for your insight

This might be a little too much info!

I have had the brazillian wax done before. Many people think it is very painful but as someone stated before...after the first *rip* it isn't so bad. Not to be gross but IMHO when they work on the lips....that's the part that made me want to jump out of the chair. When they get to the backdoor it doesn't hurt as bad because the skin around that area is much tougher than the rest.
The nice thing about waxing is you don't get ingrown hairs when it grows back in like you do with shaving. I hope this helps and I hope that I didn't gross you out to much. Good luck let us know how your wax goes!
