Default bio identical hormones

I posted over a month ago about this. I had my evaluation today (lab results from blood and saliva tests) and I am looking forward to feeling better. My cortisol levels were almost non existant. My vitamin D level was extremely low. I also have severely low progesterone levels. She said they are supposed to be in ratio with your estrogen levels (some blah blah blah I don't remember) and mine were supposed to be round about 400 and they were 22. So that is really low. Estrogen dominance. Not suprised caues it pretty much goes with PCOS from what I have read. My sugars and triglycerides were high, good cholesterol was low. So anyway, I started vitamin D drops, something for my adrenal glands and got my progesterone prescription. We'll see..I'll keep everyone update....if interested.

I did saliva testing many years ago - I do blood tests for my hormones now and I have to say that personally I think I have had better results with my treatment based on blood tests than I did with my treatment based on saliva tests and I tend to trust blood tests more than saliva tests. Actually I am not even sure that the tests were "wrong" as much as they were "misinterpreted" . . . . .or perhaps a bit of both - who knows. . . . somehow the interpretation was that I needed other products that were coincidentally made by the very same company that produced the saliva test.

Hopefully your experience will be much more positive than mine was.

First off, boy am I thrilled that you found a doc who:
A) Suggested saliva testing
B) Offers treatments based on saliva testing!

Perhaps like August, I had some serious discrepancies between saliva and blood-serum testing; however the saliva testing seemed much more indicative of the problems I was experiencing...so getting a doc to treat me based on "my silly little internet test" <- All-knowing endocrinologist's words, was difficult. However, I did find one who almost exclusively uses saliva testing for adrenal function.

Best of luck!
