Sorry if this has been asked, I could not find it. I went to have laser hair removal started today. The lady did the first treatment but urged me to go for a hormone evaluation and bioidentical hormones for my pcos. She said we can do the laser treatment but if I do not treat my pcos, it will be a losing battle. She also said her pcos clients that do this lose weight easier, their acne and hair issues clear up and they feel better. I have no insurance but can get a 40% discount (they give to persons without insurance.) It is still a little pricey...if it is a load of bull. Well worth it if it will work. I have been struggling with weight for years. I do not take bc since I had my tubes tied and I am on metformin. Anyone ever try Bio identical hormone therapy? Did it work? Is it worth it?
Hello, it is like using NPC to get AF regulated. If you have never used NPC, Natural Progesterone Cream, you want to make sure it's all natural, and has USP on the label, you would use it for 14 days, after you O' or to bring on AF, 1/4 to 1/2 2 X a day, and then use HPT to make sure you didn't conceive, and if it comes out negative, you stop and AF should arrive that week. I would google and investigate the hormones she would suggest, to see what you can find out about it. HTH

Hi,
I use to be on the BCP Yasmin. I wasn't comfortable being on it with the side affects. Instead, my natropath has me on Phyto B. I take it on days 11-25. Around day 28 I get AF. It does help. I've only been on it for a few months, but I can tell you it's helped with the cycle and with acne. Google it and see what comes up.
I take three little tiny pills on days 11-25. But of course, it's not birth control so I have to use other methods.

Hey I realize you posted this a couple of months ago. I hope you will still get this. I am having the same problem. I started laser hair removal 2 years ago and nothing has been permanent yet. I've had 9 treatments and the hair is growing in finer, but IT SHOULD BE GONE! and it's not. They say they can't guarantee the "permanent-ness" of the treatments if any hormonal change happens... Well that basically leaves out PCOSers...
I was on Diane-35. It was making my bad hair grow back less! Whoopee... until I got bruises and feelings of clotting in my legs... not so whoopee. So I had to quit taking Diane 35. Although I must say it works for helping hirsutism... But blood clots run in my family so it was really too dangerous.
Do you live in Canada or the US? I live in Canada and have become very interested in Bio-Identical hormone replacement. I'd be interested to know if you went the route of the bio-identical hormone replacement and if it helped keep your hair away after the laser treatments??? Also what bio-identical mix would be best to minimize hirsutism? P.S. I tried Spiro 2 years ago and it didn't work during the 2 months I took it and I went off of it because I felt tired and low-blood pressure all the time on it. Anyone else?
