Bipolar get worse if period late?

Hi guys,
I ave been reading up and can see the link between BiPolar and PCOS, but on a more personal level, does anyones elses BiPolar symptoms get much worse when their period doesnt show up?

I am currently on day 40 and am having a horrible mixed episode which is showing no signs of abating! High and low at the same time, its sucks.
