I am new on the forum,i was diagnosed with PCOS almost 2 years ago,the questions i have are," Do i have to take Glucophage (metformin) whole my life? How long can you take it?
Another thing is i don't get my periods unless i am on birth control, which has sucked my sex drive out of me,and that of course irritates my husband and me as well, what can i do? if i leave them i don't get periods if i keep taking them i never want to have sex ,what should i do ?
Hi, and welcome. I am on Met too. I think it varies how long you stay on met from what I have heard some ppl just go on it to try and get pregnant then stop if they do. I think it is pretty safe to be on long term as people with diabetes stay on it. I wasn't getting my period without the pill either but since being on met i have had two cycles, yay! Took about 6 weeks to work so I am really happy. I hope things work out for yout too.
You are not alone on both topics!!!
I am exactly the same way. No BC no period.
My fiance is very patient with me as far as the sex drive.
I've always believed that you are on met until the symptoms go away and you no longer need assistance with your Insulin Resistance.
As far as not having a sex drive. Look into things that may excite you. One problem is that I'll want to do it earlier in the evening and by the time we go to bed, either of us are normally exhausted.
I get the luxury of starting Met again tonight. (I stopped for 7 months because of stomach irritation and lack of intelligence.)
I'm not sure if there is anything herbal out there or not.
Thanks a lot for your response,My husband i also very patient, but as a couple we know that making love is a big part of marital life, and i just don't feel like it,it irritates me myself too.
Weight loss might help me with getting my periods normally, but with two kids i hardly find any time for work out,my bad.
hi i just posted almost the same question. the low libido is definitely putting a strain on my relationship. i dont have an answer but just wanted to say that you are not alone. good luck (me too hehe).
