birth control pills and sexual orientation I think birth control pills influence my sexual orientation. What do you think? Here's my story: I do not have pcos, but I do have a slightly elevated testerone level (77). I have hirsuteness, but none of the other pcos symptoms. I have always normal hormone levels besides testerone, no cysts on ovaries (ultrasound confirmed), regular periods, and normal weight. At age 23 I was prescribed birth control pills and aldactone to control the hirsuteness (which it did). I noticed that on the birth control pills, I had a very high sex drive and was attracted only to men. Also, before beginning the birth control pills (during my teenage and college years) I was only attracted to men. After 7 years on the birth control pills, I stopped taking them because of migraine headaches. I noticed that about 2 months after stopping the bcp, I lost all my sex drive. Then about 6 months later, I still had a very low sex drive, but strated to become attracted to women's breasts and faces. I didn't regain my strong sexual attraction to men, but I still enjoy having sex with men and fell in love with one (my husband). I have never been with a women. I think being on the birth control pill influenced my libido and sexual orientation. The doctors say the birth control pill can influence libido, but not sexual orientation. They say I'm attracted to women's faces and breasts now for emotional/psychological reasons. What do you think? |
