Default birth control AND saw palmetto?

Hi! i picked up a bottle of saw palmetto today...want to try it out. but felt a bit compelled to do a bit of research on the interactions between bcp and saw palmetto. So, after all my research, all I found was that IN THEORY, there could be a MINOR reaction between BCP and SP, and they don't even know what the specifics on what it would be. http://www.drugs.com/drug-interactio...to_d04415.html

does anyone have experience combining these two? does it do a double whammy on the hair growth/hair loss..acne, etc? or does it defeat the purpose? any help wold be greatly appreciated!

Bumping. I wonder if we might get more answers on the alternative medicine thread.

good idea, i'll post it there, too! wanted to give an update anyway...i've been on the saw palmetto with my ortho-tri cyclene for over a month now, and very happy with the results! my skin is clearer than it's ever been and the facial hair seems finer (i am on a low dose of spironolactone as well (25mg once a day)---but that has been several months wtihout great results of just spiro and bcp. now, just as a clause, i'm not an anyway taking the place of good ol' fashioned doctors advice, so if your doctor has recommended you NOT take them together, don't. but that said, it's been positive for me thus far! if anyone else is has either success OR been unsuccessful with this, please respond!!!

I've used the 21st Century Saw Palmetto Extract...more because it's what's available in a small town than anything. I take two 320mg capsules a day, usually in the morning with my other pills. It does say you're suppose to take 1 in the morning and 1 and night...but I haven't done that, i take it all at once
