Hi everyone! So we drove to Missouri on Sun and got to meet our baby Luke on Mon. and then we had lunch with his birthmom and then drove home! Everything went great! Luke is such a sweet baby! He is 8.11oz and 21 inches long. He is just over a month old! We are planning to get him on April 17th for risk placement for 1 mo. The Birthmom doesn't think the birthfather will sign the papers. She doesn't believe he will do any legal action either....he is just in control for 90 days and he is going to make us all sweat it out! Jerk!!! We hit it off with M (birthmom). It was heartbreaking to look into her eyes. She teared up a few times. You could just see her pain! She was very excited that we were going to keep in touch with her and even plan a trip down there for her to see him a few times. I told her it was only a 9 hr. drive and if that would help her I would be honored to do that for her! We also got to see a picture of her 6 year old daughter (Luke's full sister). She is beautiful! She lookes more AA then bi-racial! Sweet girl! It was so fun to hold Luke. It didn't sink in that he is going to come home with us someday. Spencer and I both agreed that the best part of the trip was our lunch with M. We have seen pictures of Luke and talked to his foster mom but we had no idea what M was like. I changed Luke's diaper and Ava was watching (she has seen boy parts before so I didn't think anything of it). Well Luke is Bi-racial so his scrotum is very dark...Ava goes "Awwwww, he pooped!" Spencer and I started laughing so hard! The things 2 year olds say! Everything is looking very good. Now I have to get in gear and start getting ready for a baby! I have the nursery ready but have last minute touches to do and wash a bunch of clothes! It is going to be so much fun! I will keep you all updated as we continue on our journey!

its great that you had a wonderful weekend and that you got along well with the birth mother. It cant be easy for her to give up such a precious little boy, but its great that she has conplete trust and faith in you and that you will raise him well..

I'll look out for updates for when he arrives permanently in your life....

I'm so happy for you. I know everything will work out for you and your family. I really hope the baby's birthfather just signs and does not keep you in suspense for the next 90 days. Anyways, keep us updated. I'm sure we will all be waiting to know how it goes.
