I took my first Met pill at 6:30 with dinner tonight. So far, I've got some stomach upset. I'm guessing the worst will hit in the middle of the night....
I think the hardest part was getting myself to actually take that first step and actually swallow that pill.
First of all good for you ... these ideas might help.
1- Take it at the same time everyday
2- Ask your doctor about taking an extended release version or taking
two smaller doses at separate times
3- Take it with a spoonful of peanut butter
4- Avoid leafy and "watery" vegetables such as lettuce and celery
5- Take it during the middle of the meal so that there is food around
it to "cushion" it
6- Take it with a calcium supplement or a large glass of milk
7- Eat yogurt daily
8- Avoid extremely high fat foods and greasy foods
9- Avoid alcohol
10- Keep hydrated
11- Increase your fiber intake

My advice? Follow everyone else's advice, especially about the lettuce. I just started Met this past weekend and I was leary of the lettuce but I love salads and all I can tell you is STAY AWAY FROM THE LETTUCE!!! Oh and maybe hot coco? I just found that one out last night

Oh the hot cocoa....it already has that effect on me. I don't know why, but I think it has something to do with the hot water.
Thanks for the warning. I'll definitely stay away from those things during these first weeks!

Hi ladies! I'm sitting here staring at my new bottle of Met. Dreading taking the first one. I'm starting at 500 mg for the first week. I know I just need to do it! Ok, I'm going to go get my yogurt, since that is supposed to help. I'll print that list!
