Default black neck

i was just diagnosed with pcos i was wondering if anyone esle has had black patches on thier neck if so what do you do to get rid of it?

i can never spell it..anthisos nigrosis?? anyhoo its called AN and yups i have it... and i hate it. i dont know what to do about it cept keep my hair down lol

perhaps some other cysters can help out

lhat ~ as far as I know there is no treatment for it. Maybe some other cysters know of some. When my endo put me on metformin mine went away. Are you taking met? I guess when my insulin became normal due to the met then I didn't have such elevated blood sugars then it REALLY helped.

i was takinf met but i had a reaction to it that landing me in the er so now i am on actos others taking are aldactone and prometrium

I have dark leathery patches of skin behind my ears, between my legs, and armpits. I've been on met since early Nov 04 and my dark patches have not changed. It's a sign of long term high insulin and unless it's new on your body, will probably not go away. Everyones different though. I've had my patches for many years now. Although recently diagnosed, i've been sufferng from PCOS for about 20 years and can remember noticing them many years ago.
