Default Blackheads & Scars

I am to the point where I have few whiteheads anymore because of excercise and diet changes (of course, AF always blows that), but I always have horrible blackheads and I also have a lot of scaring. I feel like I can't start treating the scars until I get rid of the blackheads; they are so huge and stretch my pores way out. Facial scrubs help some, but I haven't found a way to get rid of my blackheads. Also, anything I try for scaring seems to make the blackheads worse. Any suggestions?

Oh gosh do I have them on my nose bad!!! I bought this tool from Bed Bath & Beyond by Twizzerman that has two holes on each end, basically you press down on the blackheads with the tool and it pops out all the gunk. I love mine so much. I actually just did it last night to clear up my nose for an interview. After I get the gunk out I was my face real well, scrub my nose and by morning my nose looks great!!!!!

Oh, I have one of those. I forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder. Does anyone know a good way to prevent blackheads?

I need to use one of those on my DH! He has blackheads on his nose that gross me out! And of course, I could stand to use it too!

In the UK, you used to be able to get them in the Bodyshop. I might get one, but when I had one before I didn't find it that useful... now I think they are so big that it would probably work.

My worst area is my chin. I also like those pore strips you can get... in the UK you can buy Biore, but they are rather expensive... the generic Boots and Superdrug ones are much cheaper and exactly the same! I cut them in half and stick one half on my chin, one half on my forehead (in between my eyebrows) and another whole one on my nose/cheek area. I find that if you take a shower or bath first and then do this... the pores are opened up enough so that when you stick the pore strip on it actually does get some of the gunk out.

My blackheads were at their best when I was on Dianette, but unfortunately I had to come off it. I found that because it zapped the excess oil my blackheads got better and my hair was not so greasy.

I swear by the Arbonne RE9 set. It will get rid of your blackheads and help reduce your scarring. Nothing else has ever worked for me. It is pricey though! Go to Arbonne.com if you want. I don't know if one thing specifically will work because I used the entire RE9 set and the Thermal Fusion Enzyme mask. It worked great together!

Look for skin products containing BHAs or "beta hydroxy acids". Salicylic acid is the most commonly used. This particular acid is oil soluable so it can actually penetrate into the pores to help clean them out and keep them clean. It's a pretty common ingredient in "zit fighting" products.

I use Neutrogena's "Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle, Anti-Blemish Cream" nightly and it's helped tons in the blackhead department. When I first began using it I could feel the little blackheads coming out as I rubbed it in But hey, they are gone now and haven't come back! Seems to help keep the zits away, too... or at least it doesn't GIVE me any

I FOUND 100% relief by taking twinlab digestive enzymmes every time i eat and staying away from gluton products.
