I hope someone can help with advice or similar experiences?
I had a lap to remove a cyst about two & a half weeks ago. I recovered quite well. I had my followup appointment last Saturday, and my doctor said everything looked good.
My problem is that I've started bleeding again, and I know it's not my period, as I have not ovulated, also it's just different from AF, you know how you just know?
It started off after I had sex the other night, but we'd had sex previously (afer getting the dr's go-ahead) with no problems. It started off as brown spotting, and now is bright red blood, about as much as a medium AF flow. There's hardly any pain, just very mild discomfort in the abdominal area. The blood is not 'offensive smelling' or clotted or anything, so part of me isn't worried. But I'm wondering if I should be or not?
Has this happened to anyone else. I guess it's just that I really don't want yet another trip to the doctor, as he is about 3 hours from me. Of course, I would go if necessary, but I'm just hoping for some input.

I don't think it's likely you'd be bleeding from the procedure again 2.5 weeks later. And you don't need to ovulate to have af. Sometimes when we have things done it can shift the hormones in there cause af. I would wait and see what you Dr says but if you are still bleeding tomorrow and it start to feel more like af the I would go with that.

Thanks Sandra. I really don't feel like it's AF - it's exactly the same type of bleeding I had after the lap. When I'm lying down, nothing comes out, but as soon as I'm sitting or standing it rushes out and I can really feel like it, whereas when I have AF, it's fairly constant flow, but much slower, and I can't often feel it coming out, sitting or standing unless it's very clotted (which this isn't). I've been ringing my gynae & doctor all day, trying to find out if I should be concerned or not, but have had no answers yet. Thanks for your reply though.

Just after I wrote that post, both my gynae & gp rang, and Sandra, you were right - it's nothing to do with the procedure! My gynae said it's more likely to be bleeding caused by a hormonal change of some sort. So I feel so much better. This is a REALLY heavy flow though, so I guess I'm just not used to it.
Now for another question - I'm meant to be taking clomid next cycle days 4-9, should I count this as a cycle? I should've asked on the phone but was too flustered, as my other doctor was waiting on the other line. I'm not sure if I feel safe enough to take the clomid because the bleeding is so diffferent to what I'm used to?

If it were me, being that I hardly get af without taking provera, I would definately count his as af and start the clomid. Whatever you do I wish you the best of luck. I am waiting for af to start clomid to, send some of that my way lol!

As far as the bleeding goes, I don't know how often you get af but it could just be your lining and you could just be getting 'cleaned' out really good. It's like a fresh start. I would go for it. I don't know how many days you have been bleeding for but this could be cycle days 2 or 3 for you already. If you still don't feel comfortable ask your Dr but mpo is I would go for it. Good luck!

Thanks for your help Sandra. I'm so relieved it's not a complication from the surgery. As for clomid, DH & I decided to skip this round as we're going travelling across country for 5 weeks, and I just want to relax!
Take care, I'll see you when we get back (blowing babydust your way )
