Default Bleeding, Bleeding, Bleeding

Tired of this bleeding. What can I do about it? spotting now for 15 days! Yesterday I felt like my period was coming. I even have pms now. Am i getting this period or what. Going a little over here.

Has anyone used progesterone cream to stop their spotting and then had a period? Or should I just let this thing ride out?

Hi Annesian Oh I know how you feel ... god do I know - its soooo bloody frustrating isnt it? Well, I was the same as you waiting and waiting for it to either become a proper AF or go away but it didnt. Lasted 9 wks. Thats when I was diagnosed with PCOS. Said it was a hormone inbalance. They prescribed me something called Primoult which has progesterone in it and it stopped in a day or so. So I think I would try the progesterone cream. Think some girls on here use Natural progesterone cream also (not sure if this is the same thing - u could look into that) I am now trying out herbal suppliements myself to sort out my cycle cause I dont want to go back on BCP. Hope this helps a bit.

9 weeks? Oh dear (lol). You are still alive, so it must be ok!

I was normal until this cycle. I don't have any other symptoms of PCOS, but my bloodwork showed a progesterone level of 2.4. I made an appt with an accupuncturist too. She claims she can regulate my hormones naturally. We will see.

I am just worried about starting the progesterone if I am on my period, because I'm told it will stop a period - this is true?

Just about alive (lol).. I think it will stop the bleeding/period. It did for me but thats what I needed as it wasnt a normal AF. Perhaps if you think this is your normal AF now after the spotting, wait a few days before using it - if it doesnt clear then use the cream. A lot on here recommend the accupuncture too. That is my nxt step also.

I am thinking of getting on the 21-day progesterone pill, then going for 2 months with a regular pill to see if this works. I have tried nearly everything (refuse to take progesterone inserts). We already have a daughter and this situation is killing our chances for another next year.

I can't believe how many women here bleed like this. It's so heartbreaking! I looked all over the net and found this site and I am so thankful for the support here.

Now if I can only convince my religiously based clinic to dispense the pill...

This really disturbs me. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2005, and since then I've urged my sister to keep a close eye on herself since of course she's more at risk than an average person.

She is in denial. But she's had spotting for weeks on end sometimes, even while on birth control pills. She ended up going off of the pills altogether (she's married, but not ttc: doesn't want kids) because the only option her doctor presented to her was to go on a higher-strength birth control. Her husband is paranoid taking hormones will give her cancer.

They don't listen to me. I've never really read that bleeding like this is a sign of PCOS, but it sounds like a lot of cysters have it.

I've been cleared of pcos (thank god because you ladies have it very rough!!!! I don't want to be in your shoes). My case was a m/c in june that gave me two normal cycles and now this. It's depressing as hell and i really feel for the women here who are stuck with the bleeding forever. Nature is so cruel sometimes - and to the wrong people

Unhappy

OMG the bleeding is totally out of hand for me, too.

I was completely regular (as clockwork!) for 20 years -- heavy flow, sure, but it never lasted for more than 5 days, max.

In the last 9 months, I've had maybe 5 periods (none "normal", for me), and the last two have lasted more than 10 days (three months ago lasted 14 including light spotting days, nothing last month, now on at least day 12 for this one). I mean, I am glad that my body is cleaning out that endometrial lining, but isn't this excessive? I've never been on bcps and don't really ever want to if I can avoid it.

Until I found this site, I never knew women could bleed so many days like this.

My bleeding is like cherry (sorry for the tmi), but I had this post-miscarriage and the doctor said cherry means it's from a blood clot, and that it's harmless.

Not to be overly gross here - but do you have what looks like a normal period when you bleed that long or is it bright red like mine. At least I can know if this is actually a period or not. It's endless and I am so tired

I didnt realise it was a m/c Annesian - sorry to hear that. But lucky u dont have the PCOS. Just to answer your question any long bleeds I've had have changed from day to day actually .. browny, to clots, to heavy days but mainly browny and not like a normal AF where u would see bright red blood. (sorry for the tmi)

no tmi here I had the m/c in june, then normal periods. This bright red spotting and bleeding is starting to freak me out. I was prescribed prometrium, but should i even take it.

Hi girls,
so sorry about your m/c annesian. I have been bleeding very heavy now for 18 days and I'm quite worried. I'm seeing an acupuncturist for almost a month who specializes in fertility issues and so far it has gotten much worse. He has put me on a no sugar, wheat, dairy, caffeine or alcohol diet and I haven't even lost a pound (Im of average size but you'd think id shed a pound for God's sake!). Im thinking of going back on Met as I was only on it for a few days when I started with the acupuncturist and he urged me to get off. Any advice?? I feel desperate.

I saw my acupuncturist and it was a very weird experience to say the least! Each acu has a different method. This one tried to force on me some san-qi (ginsing - despite me saying i am allergic) and some other vitamin-type herbs. She did the acu as i was sitting up and boy did i have a headrush! I was confused for hours then I noticed I as barely bleeding anymore. Was a weird experience, but it seems to do "something".

Blood work came back - not anemic, not anything. Still waiting on my hormone tests to come back ugh.

Alisha, my acu told me I may bleed even more after acu. You might want to get on the met anyway, so that you have some peace of mind. Have you had your cbc done to see if you have anemia? I have been drinking TwinLab B-Complex (liquid form) and it saved me from anemia. Try that and some Chlorophyll. (that's just the green of alfalfa and other greens - perfectly safe and healthy).

I am so sorry you have had bleeding like this! At least mine has been just spotting, I cant imagine what you're going through

Something else that may help to lower your carb intake. For whatever reason, it helps.

I will be thinking of you - please post when you can. I will watch for it.

Anne
