Question Bleeding on Provera(TMI?!)

I haven't had a period in awhile - usually my body decides to do this weird brown spotting thing instead of giving me a cycle. So on cd 40, after 21 days of this light, brown spotting, I went to the dr, and she prescribed me Provera. I have taken Provera several times before, often in this same exact situation. I take the Provera, the spotting stops by the 2nd day on Provera, then I get my period a few days after I stop taking Provera.

This time has been different. Things started out normally. I started taking Provera, by the 2nd day, my nasty brown spotting went away. But this time, around day 5 of the Provera, I start spotting red. And almost more than just spotting - its a little heavier than that. Now on my last day of Provera, (day 10), it is starting to become slightly heavier bleeding. Does anyone know why this happens or what this means, if anything??
