Default Bleeding a week after Provera period stopped

I took 10mg provera 3 times a day for 7 days, then 2 weeks later I had a period that lasted about 2 weeks. It's a week later and the bleeding has started again, mostly browish, but I've never had this before.

Anyone know if this is normal for provera? Thanks.

My Dr. started me on Provera. According to the Dr., I would be on Provera for 10 days (the 1st through the 10th of each month) then I should bleed for about a week after. I started my first dose on 10/1/08. I started bleeding after only 7 days of pills and bled for 15 days. Stopped for 5 days, started again for 4 days and then started on my November dose which stopped the bleeding but for only 5 days of the 10 I was suppose to be on the meds. This time, I bled from the 5th of November through the 20th. I went back to the Dr. on the 17th (while still bleeding) and the Dr. decided that we should take me off the Provera. The Dr. is now talking about either the Mirena IUD or Novasure Endometrial Ablation. I'm not sure if I want to do either but I still have more research to do first. My husband and I are not having children so I'm thinking of just having a hysterectomy and getting it over with. I hate periods!!!

I hate periods too! Still, I'm only taking provera every 4 months.

Thanks so much for your reply. It's definitely made me less worried. I hope you manage to get an outcome that suits you *hug*

I have been through several doc's and have been w/o AF ever. I have always been given either 7 pills of provera 10mg, once each day for seven days. Have a period for at least 5 days and then its over, until the next time I take it. I think you guys might be over medicating. I would seek a second opinion. It does not sound normal. Keep me posted.
