I started YAz about 2 1/2 weeks ago and I have been spotting throughout off and on. Today it became much heavier--almost an AF and I still have about 6 more days until I am supposed to start the sugar pills.

Do I 1. Keep taking the pills and wait for next week to finish and let another AF come or 2. Start the sugar pills now and not take the last week of YAZ

Also, is the first period after starting YAZ bad? The reason I am asking is I am supposed to travel next week and can delay if I should plan to be home with a hot water bottle!

I spotted and then started a full-blown period on the first pack of Yaz while taking the active pills. You may not stop bleeding until you stop the active pills for 4 days and restart them. My first period was heavy for about 8 days. I wasn't flooding, and I didn't really have cramps, but it never tapered off. It stopped after starting the 2nd pack of active pills for 2 or 3 days. Since then I've only spotted for a couple of days during the inactive pills.

I didn't start quite so early in the first pack as you, so I stuck it out until time to take the inactive pills.
