Got to wean myself off that carb overload I've been having lately...... To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 0 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Good luck Maddy with your weightloss charm. Is it working for you? I think I need to do some work with motivation. I thought about looking up spells for refocusing on a goal. Do you (or any pagan cyster ) know of any?
Peace--

Apparently we are both Mods in the Diet and Exercise forum. I have not posted in that forum for so long. Im depressed because I have lost all my motivation and Im gaining weight. Last I checked I have gained back 20-30 pounds of the 75 that I lost. I dont know what is wrong with me. I was doing so well. I want to blame my gluc, "IT stopped working!" I swear it did, but I think a little of it was that I gave up too. It got hard, and I got depressed, and the cake went into the mouth.
So, now I am off the wagon, off the gluc (some issues with low blood sugar--going to talk to my RE about it on May 16) and really depressed about the weight I have gained. Low carb has become nearly impossable. I crave sugar all the time. That may be part of the IR--low blood sugar--gluc problems I have been having too. I dont know. *sighs*
Oh well.
Peace, Love, and Light

Well. I went to the doctor. He put me back on the gluc but way lowered my dose. He was concerned about the blood sugar issues. However in the past 2 days I have been doing better with the eating. Could it be that I am just so broke that I can not afford to go to the store and spend $25 bucks on candy and ice cream? Maybe, but I like to think that Im doing better on purpose. lol I can say that I dont have the craving like I had before, or at least I have not had a serious craving for sugar since I saw the doc on friday.
I would still like some help from the pagan cysters with motivation workings and/or weight loss charms!
Love to all!

I have something you could try. It is for "easing the load", both weight wise and spiritually.
You will need:
12 different coloured ribbons (or scarves/pieces of material) one of which must be yellow or gold
a rolling pin
1 oz fresh or dried dill
1pt boiling water
a notebook
a small bowl of water
a white candle
a silver goblet/"special" glass
red wine
oh and it is better to start on a Sunday morning, since Sunday is the day for good fortune and hope.
In the morning wrap the silk scarfs, one at a time, around the rolling pin, up and down the length of the pin if you have sufficient material, finishing with the golden or yellow one. Place the rolling pin in a dark place; it is symbolic of you. Steep the dill in the boiling water and drink half a cup before each meal.
Once a day you need to take a long walk, fields, woods, by water if possible, or just in a park. Even in the rain. When you get home write down in your notebook (only for your use) what you saw and how you feel.
In the evening before you go to bed when the moon is out sit by a window with the curtains open and the light out, wrap yourself in a blanket/shawl/cardigan. Place some water in the bowl and light the candle next to the bowl. Pour yourself some wine in a favourite glass just for this. Position the candle so that its flame flickers on the surface of the water. Concentrate on the pool of water, emptying your mind of all thoughts. Allow your inner mind to do the seeing, it is better if the moonight illuminates the water - it may work better outside and/or with a dark coloured bowl. Drink your wine and empty your mind of thought.
After one week take the top scarf from the rolling pin and wear it close to your skin for the day. In the evening tie it in a bow in a prominent place in your home. Each week remove one scarf.
N.B. It is supposedly better when working this not to eat too much protein (sufficient, yes, but not more) and to increase your intake of vegetables and restrict wheat. (sounds like a diet I know but it is actually about "lightening" your system too.
If you try it please e-mail me to let me know how it is going. Or if you want any other info/try something else

I am not a Pagan but this is really cool. Bealtaine is the Irish for the month of May. Is this a throwback to the time of the Druids in Ireland? Just wondering!
