Ostara is a Pagan holiday that celebrates the rebirth of the earth. One of the stories relating to that include: Persophone retuning above ground, after being underground for the winter months. The word Ostara comes to us from the Saxon Lunar Goddess Eostre, according to a myth about her she once rescued a wounded bird, whose wings had become frozen by the cold. She turned the bird into a hare so it would survive the cold winter. The transformed bird into hare keeping its avian way of reproducing produced eggs which she then decorated and gave to the Goddess Eostre in gratitude. The early christian church adapted some of those myths and they became traditions in order to convert the Pagans to the belief.
Like I said earlier in this post...... Ostara is the Pagan holiday that celebrates the rebirth of the earth. New life breaking out from under ground and turning everything green.
Hope that helps.
Cindy
