Hi all.. just wanted to know of any information or experiences for blighted ovum.i was diagnosed of blighted ovum on sept 6th, 08.. was due on 3/30/09.. was 11 weeks in , and was pretty confident i wouldnt m/c. I was so close to 12 weeks !! I had a horrible migraine for the few days leading to it.. but i went to the ER coz i was spotting bright red blood heavily n had so many clots.. they did blood tests n u/s n said i wasnt really pregnant at all, that i had a blighted ovum

Met with my obg yesterday , n have a d&c scheduled for next week. Am bleeding moderately now, so am waiting to see if i will bleed out everything.. Am totally scared n lost n dont understand anything happening around me ..

(*hugs*) Blighted ovums are difficult, I haven't had one so I don't have much information for you. I hope one of the other ladies can help you out. I have not had a D&C, but I believe they will knock you out for it.

You may have severe cramping, you might not, if you're body is trying to miscarry naturally. Have some strong Midol on hand in case. Try the ones with Naproxen Sodium in them, they are anti-inflammatory so they're good for back aches and muscle pain too.

Emotionally, it's distressing. I'm sure. My thoughts are with you. I'm sorry for your loss.

katword....so very sorry for your loss! Thank you for your condolences on mine as well....you posted a reply to a thread I did before.
I had a D&C with this m/c and they did knock me out cold....woke up and was all cleaned up and didnt feel a thing. If that brings any fears at ease for you! So sorry!!

First of all, I'm so sorry for your loss. ((HUGS)) It's so hard to know that you were pg and don't have anything to show for it. I have not had this happen to me, but I did a search and found some web sights that may be of help to you, they for the most part say the same things, but each in their own way. Again I am so sorry for your loss.
