Default bloated on Avandia?

for those of you that take avandia, do you find that you retain water? Today my left foot has become completely swollen and my ankle is twice the size of my right one. I don't know what to do because I can't get hold of my doctor until tuesday and the swelling isn' t going down at all.

I'm sorry your foot is swollen, I wish I had some advice, but I have had the exact oppposite experience. I started taking Avandia a little over a week ago and was worried because I know that swelling is a side effect and I have problems with swelling to begin with. But a few days after I started taking Avandia my swelling completely went away! I was more than a little surprised. I hope someone is able to give you some advice, I know it can't be comfortable. Good luck!

Plavka...being a registered nurse...I'd really advise you to STOP taking the Avandia immediately. You could really put your self in serious risk to continue taking it. If you were only having just a little puffiness that'd be one thing, but you are really having a reaction to it. Is there an on-call doctor that you could at least phone and talk to???

Just going through some older posts to get info on progesterone and came across this one.

My mom last summer actually had to stop taking avandia since it was causing heart failure. We couldn't figure out why her swelling wasn't going down until I saw some commercials on a class action suit against the makers and although the doctor didn't recommend it, she stopped taking it immediately and it cleared up. Do a search on the net and you can find out more information if you are interested.
