Unhappy Bloating on BCPs

Hi all,

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who answered my thread last time (I was freaking out last weekend because I'd started bloating pretty badly since starting 3rd cycle of Alesse).

I'm just sitting around here totally curious. For those who have water retention issues on BCPs...do you find that it's pretty much constant until you start your inactive pills? Mine's I'd say moderate to severe. Most of my pants don't fit me and I can't lay or sit in a reclining position for too long without feeling pressure just under my rib cage. I have no idea how much weight I've gained as I refuse to get on a scale. Anyway, I have 7 more active pills to go and I will NOT be doing a fourth month. I'm just hoping for some good thoughts in the area of 1.) whether anyone else has had bloating that bad or 2.) how quickly after you're off the pills do the symptoms go away.

Appreciatively,

Robin

Have you tried Yasmine or Yaz? I retained fluid on Loestrin, but haven't had any problem with fluid retention on Yaz. Its progestin is related to Spiro and has a slightly diuretic effect.
