I recently had a baseline ultrasound (beginning of cycle) done, which showed that my uterus seems fine (although I have a small fibroid, not in the lining) and ovaries did not appear to have any cysts. Also, my hormones at this time were fine. However, the HSG showed that I may have both tubes blocked. Because of my age (39), the doctor recommended that I begin the IVF process rather than try to unblock my tubes. Does anyone have any experience with alternative methods of unblocking tubes such as Clear Passage Therapies or herbs? I am weary of IVF due to the emotional and financial toll it would take on us.
Did the dr say what was blocking the tubes? When I had my HSG, the dr's analysis showed my right tube was blocked at the distal end by mucous. My gyn prescribed me an antibiotic for 2 weeks to try to help dry it up. I am 37 years old and lost my left tube 6 months ago to an ectopic pg because of the same type of blockage (mucous). I think clearing the tubes can depend on what is causing the blockage.

The doctor said there was no spillage from the tubes, but could not determine why. He said it was possible that a muscle spasm could have caused the tubes to temporarily close, but this was not likely. I began taking an antibiotic the day before the HSG and continued for a total of five days. I don't know if it cleared anything up in my tubes. It did however lead to a marvelous yeast infection. According to my midcycle lap report my LH is low and the ultrasound did not show any mature eggs. So in addition to blocked tubes, I may also not be ovulating. DH and I have decided to pursue IVF. We'll probably do one or two cycles, and if I'm not pregnant after the second. we'll pursue adoption.
I just wanted you all to know yesterday I found out that I'm definitely PG. My beta last Monday was 68 and then 188 on Wednesday. Thank you so much for your support through this process.
