  1. Life Goes On

So much has happened and yet it all stays the same. I'm doing good, working full time, and loving the married life.

I had a very disappointing RE visit in June 2012 which has caused me to go in an entirely different direction as far as TTC is concerned. I'm now on Vitex and had my first non-provera/bcp cycle in over 2 years which is crazy. I knew my period was coming even though I'd only stared Vitex ealy July 2012 and it was barely August, then I got up that morning and felt different.

  2. Back to the Fertility Center!!!

It's been awhile since I updated my blog on here. Since November 2011 I've dropped a whopping 40 pounds. I still don't eat or drink anything with sugar in it and I've incorporated solid foods into my diet, somewhat. The gallstones make eating food and even drinking water beyond uncomfortable. I finally have a surgeon who will preform the removal surgery regardless of my weight, but gastroenteorology is a very busy field. Plus the place I'm going through requires a refferal through my primary physician ...

  3. I've lost 25 pounds in 3 weeks!!!

Since going on my clear liquid and soup diet I've already dropped 25 pounds! I was floored when I found out because it's only been 3 weeks since I cut sugar completely out of my diet and 6 weeks since I stopped eating things high in carbs (bread, pasta, etc.). Looks like my gallbladder acting up pretty much saved my life. I was fast approaching a weight range that I never in my life wanted to be in and now I can safely say it's not going to happen.

I'm on Metformin, which I upped to ...

  4. I've dropped a pants size

It's been awhile since I last blogged and I need to update. So it's been a month since I've been on birth control pills and about 3 and half weeks since starting 250mg of Metformin. The good news is AF came and she was super heavy and intense which is exactly what I wanted. I thought I was pregnant back in late Sept. early Oct. 2011, but I wasn't. My 3rd Clomid cycle was completely anovulatory so I went to a new RE who doubles as a GYN who specializes in PCOS and he took the time to explain EVERYTHING ...

  5. Long time coming: no more TTC

So I had my first appointment today with a gynecologist/reproductive endocrinologist who specializes in PCOS. He's right here in my city (no out of town driving, yay!) and everything went wonderfully. He said even though my PCOS and insulin resistance was confirmed by my RE in June 2011 he wants to re-do all the blood work for me while I'm fasting because the first time around they didn't have me fast. He's also giving me a progesterone blood test to see if Clomid made me ovulate in September 2011 ...

  6. I've made it this far!!!

Well my period was supposed to be here 9/29/11 and it's still not here. Last HPT I took was on wednesday or thursday. I can't remember at all because I've been feeling so sleepy that the days are blurring together. Anyways it was a BFN, but that doesn't matter because on Monday I scheduled a beta hcg blood test with my regular GP who is fully aware of my PCOS and if I'm not pregnant she wants to test my hormone levels to see what's going on. I didn't mention the Clomid just that I was late. ...

  7. Finally! Some good news.

I just got approved for an apartment in this condominium complex. As I've said before DH and I have been living with my parents since June 2011 and it's high time we get the hell out of here.

The apartment has a washer and dryer inside the unit, it's carpeted (last apartment was tile flooring only), and it has a balcony over looking the neighborhood. The complex is really quiet probably because they require all tenants to go through an extensive criminal background search and if you ...

  8. I ovulated if that's any consolation

It has been a long ass week ladies! The internet adapter on the PC I use died and it took AT&T U-Verse a week to ship another one.

In that week I barely caught my ovulation on two different types of OPKs, couldn't baby dance, and had an extremely big blow up with my husband.

First to the OPKs which I started using CD 9. I was using both Clearblue digital and non digital opks. Now on CD 13 which was 9/11/11 I kept telling DH that I was about to ovulate because I was ...

  9. At what age is it appropriate to try to have a baby?

I've had this experience in real life and online. If I tell someone I'm 23 years old and trying to have a baby they quickly jump to say I'm too young. I'm told that I shouldn't be trying and that I'm going to end up with kids I can't take care of. Damn! I didn't know conceiving in your 30's meant you were automatically financially stable to have children. When did that become a rule? Do people not lose jobs and go homeless in their 30's?

Even when I explain that I have PCOS, amenorrhea, ...

  10. Are Stepmothers Real Mothers?

I'm starting to question this. DH has a son who's 4 years old. We don't see him that often, but he's always on our minds. I've been married for 14 months now and on Mother's Day this year no one wished me a Happy Mother's Day except for a sibling who sent me an email saying despite my fertility issues I'd make a great mom.

But I'm already a mom, amen't I? Wasn't that part of the deal when I got married that I'd parent DH's son like he was my own?

    On a lighter note I was ...
