These past 5 months have been rough. It really started back in October. I got a part time job to have money for myself and the kids. In December I got what was what I thought the first (and hopefully only flu of the season). Any how, went to the urgent care and they said allergies and sent me home.
In January, dh got laid off and my hours were cut so I decided I needed to look for a better job with more hours and dh had to collect unemployment. I was lucky enough to get my old job back and was able to get a decent amount of hours. I still kept getting sick and much to my surprise, started losing weight. I am very hard to lose weight but thought that my working more was contributing to that.
In January, February, March, and April, I was still sick. Paid several visits to the urgent care and each time it was either allergies (in the dead of winter) and bronchitis a few times. I finally had enough.
I was on my way early one Sunday mornign to try and find a Wii, and for some reason just started feeling so crappy I ended up at the urgent care once more.
This time I told them there was no way this was allergies and I wanted more test done, I was lucky enough the Dr on call was my old family Dr and he ordered a chest x-ray, which came up clear so he said he wanted me to see a pulmonary Dr. because coughing and brochitis for so long was just not right. He gave a strong antibiotic and a reminder for the appointment with this Drs.
The antibiotics seem to work so I was not going to see this Dr., but decided to go anyways. I told her about how I had been feeling, the coughing, the congestion and a lot of back aches. I mention that I have antiphospholipid syndrome and she freaks out, she says we need to do a ct scan to rule out a pulmonary ebolism and the least of her worries -pnuemonia. I go get that done.
