almost one month on metformin

I have been on metformin for about a month, and I am SO tired now. I upped my dosage from 500mg of the XL once daily to 1000mg daily. I feel sick half the time, have little energy..I do drink alcohol..I'm scared that its that lactic acidosis they talk about, because I just feel drained.. Any opinions??

 | Hi My name is Melinda I am new to this site. I have been on metformin for 3 years 1000 2xs a day. I would recomend not drinkin alcohol and try adding tea or juice when you take it. I also take Zantac which helps the upset stomach |

| |  also you can take 500mg in the morn and the other at night. i broke mine up even at 1500 mg i took 1 at lunch and 2 with dinner and make sure you eat a good bit of food with it. i also didn't drink any alchol it has some kinda reaction with the met |
