Told over the phone I have PCOS

Hi Peeps,
I am in a state of shock and confusion. Went for my second scan with the NHS. Afterwards the nurse stated I had not ovulated (this being on day 14, I have long cycles between 40 days and 49). She told me this information in the hospital corridor- patient confidentiality obviously went straight out of the window. A few days later my husband chased up the doctor about the scan. The next day I was told over the phone that I have PCOS by the consultant and she said they would bring my appointment forward.
I am amazed how lacking in empathy the staff are at this hospital. I do not know where to start and although I like to empower myself with information I feel scared of what lays ahead.
Would really appreciate hearing from people that are coping with PCOS and any helpful hints, encouragement would be a real blessing x

| | that is very unprofessional and ur right lack of empathy. I went through 3 doctors till i finally found one who atleast acted like she gave a sh!t... its well worth switching if u feel like ur not getting treated properly. PCOS sux so bad.. i totally get where ur coming from cuz i went through a lot of the same. my first doctor all he every told me was that i had cyst and hair that grew in some spots (like a stran or 2) and then told me at 18 y/o he wanted to do a complete hystorectomy because i would never beable to have kids. my 2nd doctor gave me some metformin and said call if u get pregnant. well 2 months of that i decided to go see the dr i'm with now, she sent me to a specialist and i am 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant with my first baby. someone out there will help u, and show u way more compassion than what these people are showing. if i were u, i'd find someone else. PCOS is hard enough to deal with by itself, let alone having a dr, who doesnt want to take the time to be professional and caring about things. I wish u the best of luck... and i hope u find what u are looking for and what best suits u. |
