I have been diagnosed with PCOS over 3 years ago now and when my OBGYN told me that I would have to go on metformin, clomid and also a drug so that I would get my period. He tested me on just a drug 3 years ago to see if I would get my period with being on the hormone pill which was not birthcontrol by the way. Me and my husband had planned on starting a family and then we held off and now 3 years later we are considering going on the meds later this fall when I make an appointment to see my OBGYN.
So today I was at work and coming back from lunch and of course I went to the restroom to find out of the blue that I started my period on my own. I am not sure it is just going to be one day of just spotting but there was a little blood clot there the size of a dot. I know when he had put me on the meds it was the worst period that I have ever had in my life because it was so long since I had one last.
Does anyone think that it might be something to be alarmed about since in over 3 years this is the first time to be honest with all you woman that I had a natural period of my own. Should I maybe see my family doctor or my OGBYN.
Thanks

| | I would go see your OBGYN. Your doctor can tell if it is your period or if something else is going on. Try to make an appointment ASAP just in case it is something more serious. It is always better to be more safe than sorry. |

| | Thanks for the advice. I called my family doctor but cannot get into see him until sometime in July. He is on call sometime next week in the evening so I will go see him then. |
