39 and 8wks pregnant full of questions

Posted 06-22-2009 at 06:05 PM by Keinu
Today is my first day here on this site and i am kind of excited and in need of encouragement...I am 39yrs old and now 8wks pregnant with a baby
I was told would be most unlikely to have.
I dont have kids and so this lil one is an incredible blessing for me and his/her Dad.I am having anxiety over if I will be able to have the baby full term...There are three main risk-factors:
39yrs old
PCOS
Hypertension
Has anyone out there been able to have a healthy baby with these factors?

I changed a lot of my eating habits and knocked off 40lbs and starterd treating the 'edema' from too much sodium-hence the hypertension symptoms with a totally different diet and and an HCTZ (fluid pill) medication.I saw my cycle regulate (the left ovary only). This is also the side the baby is located on in my uterus.
I am gonna go to my 1st appointment July 1st...what can i expect...what should I mention?
