Not feeling pretty :worried:

Posted 06-29-2009 at 06:32 PM by livelifefull
I have an amazing boy friend who I love very much, and he is always telling me how pretty I am.... but I don't feel like it. He doesn't know I have PCOS, and I don't want him to know. I constantly feel self consous about the amount of hair I have and I feel like the only thing I do is shave!! When my boyfriend and I are trying to have a romantic date, all I can worry about is did I miss a spot shaving? Oh no, is he going to find it?? And so its hared for me to relax... Does any one have any advice for me?

When I first met my husband, I didn't tell him about my PCOS. I was waxing my face, but the hair had to grow back before the next treatment. At the time I didn't understand that I could eat whole grains, so I told him that I didn't eat carbs. Plus he could see that I was overweight. After we had been dating for a little while, I broke down and told him when I was visiting him. That day he researched as much as he could about PCOS, and then we had a long talk about it that evening. He knew about the time I was going in for the waxing, because he could see the hair growth. He knew I was overweight. He then said that he would help me sort out how to deal with PCOS. To this day, my husband has been my biggest supporter. We are on this journey together, and I really couldn't do this without him.

If you really love this man, then it might be time to tell him. You have to give him the respect of keeping him in the loop. He cannot be there for you without all of the information. Give him a chance. He might just surprise you. I know my husband did.
