Mences Changes...worried!!

Hi I am new to the site. I am 39 years old and I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 22 years old. I hate this disease. It has caused a lot of problems for me. In the past year I have developed the worse PMS ever...I get sick all over .. a feeling I cannot describe. My emotional state 3 weeks out of the month is out of control mostly with fear, anxiety and paranoid. One good thing is that I have been getting a period for the last year since June of 07.... until july I missed completely. For the last 4 weeks I have been dizzy, lightheaded, fatigue, anxious, hot, shaky, depressed...but mostly fatigued. The past 10-12 days I could feel my breast get tender and bloating ...pms symptoms. So I figured I was getting my period. Well, sure enough I got it 4 weeks from when I was due in July. It started dark red like normal. I felt fine ok not great... (I usually feel bad the first 2 days I bleed) then by 10pm that night I was lightheaded and dizzy, my heart was racing and I really started to flow. The only thing that concerns me with these symptoms is that my blood is really bright red with very little texture and no clots. Usually, I have brown to start then dark red to brighter red with mucus like flow and clots. It kind of freaked me out... almost like regular blood. I got it thursday night...I barely slept and worked yesterday with heavy flow from thursday night. I felt like was going to pass out all day. The bleeding has slowed down since last evening but It is still the same color and texture. But I am so tired and still little lightheaded. I am not pregnant and I have had some back pain with wee bit of cramping. Do you think this is a hormonal shift symptom. I have been eating more kale and dandilion tea. I work at an alternative med place and have been getting acupuncture for a couple of months. They seem to think that my treatments are causing the change. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Meg~

| | As a Acupuncturist, I would think the treatments are changing your cycle. Women are not suppose to get spotting, cramping, clotting. They are suppose to have bright red blood that just starts without pms symptoms. What we are told is normal (cramping, clotting, pms, etc.) really is not the way it is suppose to be. These changes you are having could be very positive. I always remind my patients to have regular checkups with their doctor, and have acupuncture to regulate your period. |
