Blessed and Amazed

This is just about the most overdue blog post I have ever written!
On February 3rd I was blessed with the first positive home pregnancy test in my life. I was 14dpo and although I knew there was a chance I could be pregnant, I was tired of getting excited, just to let myself down again. A few days before, I decided that if I didn't get my period in the evening of 14dpo, I would test. I usually get my periods in the morning.
Well, 14dpo came and no sign of AF. Evening time came around and I was chickening out. I decided I would then wait until 15dpo but DH wasn't hearing it! We ran to the dollar store and bought 3 tests.
I came home, didn't drink anything, didn't pee, and waited for four hours. I finally peed on a stick and then just sat there on the toilet, waiting for my fate or my doom. I looked over and there it was, a faint positive. I ran out and showed it to DH. It wasn't so faint that we had to squint but it wasn't the bright positive that I'd hoped for. So, I waited another four hours without drinking anything or peeing on anything. I think it was nearly 2am when I peed on the second stick and there it was, another positive! This was was a little darker.
I still did not want to believe it! I hardly slept a wink, so excited and so amazed that this could actually be happening to me. However, the fear also immediately set in. I knew that just as quickly as this all begun, it could all end. The next morning (15dpo) I woke up and had DH run to the drug store. He got me a ClearBlue Easy HPT and I peed on it as well. It was a definite positive and then I called my Mom and told her she was going to have to make plans to come to San Diego in October, she was going to be a Grannie!!
I went to the doctor two days later, armed with my pregnancy tests in fear that they would tell me "Silly girl, you are not pregnant!" but they never said such a thing. I indeed, was pregnant! Finally part of the club that everyone wants to be in.
It was an amazing, amazing start to our journey as parents together!!
