Doctor's Appointment Tomorrow

Posted 07-30-2009 at 09:01 PM by Tina Castle
Lately I've been really impatient with myself and I've decided to go the clinic that diagnosed my PCOS and ask to be put on Metformin so that my period will start.

I just can't stand not having it and I know I'll be extra annoyed and irritated if I'm shot down. I'm already trying to build up my courage so that I don't take no for an answer. I want those nurses to listen to me because I'm not just some lazy fat girl complaining.

I've been excercising everyday (20 minute walks in the evening) for almost 4 months now and no AF. I was told to come back 6 months from the day I was dx'ed, but I can't wait that long.

Actually I feel foolish for being told to wait that long. All they have to do is test my blood levels (the blood testing place is in the same building as the clinic!) and then they'll see the Metformin really is for me.

Also I think I might have a UTI which is the major reason I'm going in. I've been drinking cranberry juice like it's water and that's kept the cramping and frequent urination at bay.

Ugh, I hate dealing with lazy medical assistants and nurses. You truly have to be your own advocate which is why I thank God everyday for this website. This site taught me so much about PCOS.

I'm a little nervous, but I'll be alright. My appt. is 9:30 a.m. right before work starts for me so hopefully it won't take too long.

Oh and side note: when I called into to make my appointment I told the woman over the phone I wanted to see about my possible UTI and about getting on meds for my PCOS and she asked me what PCOS is. When I told her its Polycystic Ovary Syndrome she asked me what that was.....

How can she work in a women's clinic and not know about PCOS?

Well maybe that's just how I see it. I didn't get rude with her I just my appt. time, thanked her, and wished her a good day.

No point in being sour over nothing.
