I have been diagnosed with PCOS in the last two weeks. Thankfullly my new doctor was no to it enought to realise what was happening. My period has been irregular for years (I am 27) but I was too embarassed to tell anyone and I am overweight (alhough that isn't entirely PCOS' faulty. Right now I am waiting for a consult with an endrcronologist. I am terrified and feel alone. While I ahve told my friends and boyfriend about it and they are being supportive I feel alone.

| | I was diagnosed a month ago after seeing my GP afew time then an endocringoloist....they put me on spirolactone and metoformin to help weight loss and reduce hairs. Within a week i'd lost 6 pounds! i've always struggled losing weight but these tablets are really helping. I wouldnt worry too much there's aload of treatment for making your periods more regular and reducing symptoms of having PCOS and also getting pregnant, your endo doctor will explain everything. I know what you mean tho when u feel alone, none of my friends have PCOS so its hard for them to understand. |
