Unhappy Blood glucose level too low

Okay, I have been taking Avandia for about 6 months now with no problems. It has completely regulated my cycles which is great. However, today I find out that my blood glucose levels are tanking and I am going to have to stop taking it. I admit I've been light headed a lot lately but I didn't think much about it. I've already tried Metformin and it was terrible. I don't have any idea what they can do for me at this point...has anyone else been through this?

Hi,

That's too bad especially since it was helping you w/ your cycles. I know you said met was terrible but was it regular met or the extended release? Maybe the ER will be easier for you to take.

Yeah, I took metformin and it made me horribly horribly sick, but I am now on Fortamet, which is extended release metformin and it works wonders and I don't get sick from it. So maybe talk with your doctor about that...

Thanks for the replies. I may try one of those variations...however I had bloodwork to check my glucose levels done again yesterday and unbelievably I seem to be pregnant. So the doc said I would have had to stop the avandia anyway and we'll just keep an eye on my glucose levels.

I'm too shocked to be excited yet and what a strange way to find out! lol
