I am seeing my endo next week and was wondering what bloodwork I should request, since she won't order any w/o being proded. I started on met in July and the only test she did was a 24 hr urine cortisol (which came back on the high side of normal), and fasting glucose (104). No kidney function, no free androgens/testosterone..
What should I need??
Thanks in advance.

What are you seeing them for? It looks like you were diagnosed already. Have you ever had FSH, LH, free testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, ALT, cholesterol, fasting insulin, etc? If not I think those would be recommended.

I have already been diagnosed on the bases of a history of cysts, massive weight gain, and no periods, but none of those tests were ever done, so I was wondering if they should be. I was diagnosed, put on met, and THEN had the cortisol and glucose tested.
I asked the dr how she'd know if the met was working.
She said by the blood work.
Since there was no bloodwork taken before I started, there is no baseline, so how in the heck will they know? What will they compare??

It looks like they did a fasting glucose for you and it should go down quite a bit after being on met. I do think that you should have the other tests done though because there are different manifestations of PCOS and different ways to treat it, especially if you are TTC.
