Yum! These have a bit of a kick, but they are a nice way to treat an almond. There is a little added sugar (2 g per serving) but not as much salt as you might expect.

Thanks for letting us know they are good, I am going to get some and try them out. I love Almonds, last time I bought some I ended up eating the whole bag because they are so good lol! Im actually going grocery shopping tonight so I will see if the store I am going to have them.
They are so good, but expensive! It turns out to be such a pricey little snack since the container is so small and they are so good!
I wonder about the natural flavors listed on the container, i heard that MSG can be hidden under natural flavors)....those darn food manufacturers are getting sneaky with their labeling!
How could we make a healthy version from plain almonds, what would we add as flavor? I have some Fajita spices I got at the health store made with natural spices that with some salt baking on some almonds sounds great!

I may try whipping up my own seasoned almonds. You've inspired me! The prepackaged ones are a bit pricey. I wonder if you could marinate them in soy sauce and wasabi or plain horseradish, with maybe a little bit of brown sugar or honey, and then roast in the oven for a while...wonder how they'd turn out? I just may get some raw almonds next time I go to the store, and give this a shot. Is there such a thing as wasabi powder? LOL.

It's always hard for me to buy almonds in the store because I grew up in the middle of an almond orchard. We could just go outside and pick some off the tree! Right now the earlier varieties are just about ready to harvest. Their light green husks are splitting open, revealing the almond underneath in it's light brown shell. It looks like a fairly good crop this year, although last year was better...the trees were thick with almonds and the branches were bending under the weight. We had some early rains that discouraged the bees this year, so not as many blossoms got pollinated.
Blue Diamond does make some fun flavors. There's a jalepeno one, too.
My mom used to crisp up almonds in the oven with melted butter and a bit of salt on them. Yum! I would suggest a finely ground salt if you do this, as the reg. seems to fall off too easy.
So, that's my almond report, straight from the California orchards!

Yep. I want to get some for my mother. When I was young she used to make dill pickles with powdered horseradish, but can't find it anymore. Wasabi should do the trick.
We went to Cosco when we were in the city two weekends ago and I, ever the almond lover, bought a HUGE tub of the BD Smokehouse Almonds. They were gone in a week!
the wasabi ones weren't too hot at all... kind od surprised me.... I guess I am just to used to WasabiI am one of those people who will just eat some of the extra wasabi they give you when you get sushi
I dont like Almonds usually (I liek eth almond flavor but I am not a nut fan in general) but DH bought these as he is... DS spilled them on the floor and I tried one as I was picking them up! YUM!!!! I ate a small handful of them.. i dont think I have ever eaten that many almonds (unless it was the ones I made by toasting sliced almonds and having a sugar coating for them).
