Question Body Acne

Hello Cysters,

If you have experienced body acne in addition to face acne, share your treatments here: what has worked, what hasn't, and what you plan to try for body acne in the future. This can definitely be just as embarrassing (if not more) than face acne and I know we would all like to find a good solution.

I'll be looking forward to all of your responses!

The only other spot I get acne (so far) is on my chest. I'm on Spiro and it's helped the facial acne soo much, but for some reason I still get some acne on my chest. I use differin gel and Cleocyn-T for my face and if I get a breakout on my chest I use it there as well. Seems to help it go away.

I use Neutrogena soap for comination skin; am on bc pills (trying a new one Alesse); but I was on Diane 35 and then before that ortho-tricyclen(my skin was best on that one), Met and I use DALACYN-T topical solution; which has worked really well for me to prevent breakouts; and maybe in combination with all the other pills I take it has helped me keep my hormones in check.) I strongly recommend trying the DAlacyn T solution (you will have to get a prescription from your doc, though).... let us know what you decide and how it works for you.

I have been using a product from Avon called Bacne. It's one of their MARK products. It comes in a spray bottle. I just spray it all over my back and chest. It has completely cleared up all of my acne on my chest and my back is almost completely clear now.

I use St Ives apricot scrub and Noxsema face wash every day on my face and chest. Usually that keeps the acne at bay. When something does flare up I use Clearasil Ultra. It zaps the zits away in a night or two.

Unhappy

Hi,
I have a bad case of acne on my back, chest and face. My doctor told me because of allergies the only way to get rid of the problem is acutane. Of course that is out of the question because I'm ttc. I'm out of options. I'm not sure if I can use benzoyle peroxide or not. Help!! I forget how I look under this terrible skin of mine.

Benzoyl Peroxide seemed to only mask my skin problems and seriously dried it out. Plus no matter how well I thought I rinsed, it always ended up bleaching parts of my towels. Grrr.

I guess I'm stuck looking this way until I have children then. If acne is ithe price I have to pay to have children than that is okay with me.

Oddly enough, I don't get acne on my face. I never even had acne as a teen. Then a year or two ago, I got acne all over my chest and it's now really, really bad on my neck. I get it when I have my period and just about the time it clears up, well my period comes back. It's a never ending cycle.

Tea Tree oil works for me. It doesn't make it go away completely, but it certainly makes the acne smaller and way, way less red. I buy tea tree oil at Wal-Mart, where the vitamins are. It's about $4 a bottle. It worked so well for me, I recently ordered some tea tree soap online to see if that works. I haven't tried it yet, so we'll see. I was also desperate enough to get some practive. Just got that too and that's what I'm trying first.

Hi Shannon,

I have used tea tree oil in the past and it is a good solution to calming down the redness and drying out the acne a little bit. The tea tree soap sounds really interesting, if you don't mind me asking, where did you find it? If it works, let me know, I'll give it a try as well .

I got my tea tree soap from a woman who makes handmade bath products. What I got was called "Tea Tree Acne Soap". I remember it came in a full size or a smaller bar. Her website is: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=8901

Not sure if that showed up as a link or not. Just copy and paste the url if it didn't. I can vouch for her though. She has great feedback, she kept me informed of getting my order and when she shipped it, and not only did I get my package in a few days, she also sent me a free sample.
